Chapter 31 - Storm

Upon seeing the gloomy weather, Blair grimaced.

"That ain't looking too good. I hope it doesn't pour until I get home." The clouds were a dense gray, a far cry from the fluffy white shapes of a spring daydream.

"We can give you a ride if you want," Hershey offered. They were both walking to the bus stop in front of the school. "It's fine. The bus will be here soon. I'll just wait," Blair replied.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, it's okay." 

"I'll see you at school tomorrow, then!" Hershey waved her goodbye before making her way to the parking lot. "Bye, bye." Blair waved back as she sat on the bench at the waiting shed.

In the distance, a roll of thunder growled, and Blair tried not to flinch. 'I'm a big girl now! I'm not scared of storms!' But as another rumble hit, this time closer, a whimper fled from Blair.
