Chapter 6 - The Train

Parrot was sharing the facts he learned and provided the documents two days later.

According to the information, the companion of mine spent a week with the dealer before joining the Antidote organization.

I have the impression that he deceived me or that another, more obscure plot exists. He was now a member of the antidote crew. To learn what happened to me previously and who abducted me, I must locate him.

'Should I raid the headquarters of the Antidote organization because it appears that they were involved in my disappearance?'

Most of the time, my gut instincts are correct. I must thus put up my effort.

The individual I was interacting with to obtain the antidote was represented by the recognizable voice I overheard during my blackout.

According to the information I had acquired, the antidote group's headquarters was located somewhere along the boundary between Freuna and Belovgad City (the Capital of Ashpor).

My conclusion was the same, and I'm curious as to whether my partner and the Antidote organization have information about me that I don't.

Who was the woman the maniac referred to? If Rit is the girl, then I need to know everything.

Before I invade Antidote Group headquarters, I have to go someplace.

'What further baffles me is why I was in the pine forest next to the monastery. Who can get me there and even seems to be aware that I am linked to the old monastery?'

Despite my attentiveness, I have the feeling that someone is watching my every action from a distance.

They are aware of my recent history.

'Do they know the secret I am holding?' I get goosebumps all over my body when I think about the unknown.

I had to quit looking around here since I know I won't find anything else and go on to my next location.

After paying Parrot what he deserved, I had to inquire as to whether he would continue to work for me.

"Although I am aware that, you planned to retire but I hope you'll join me on the upcoming assignment. Finding someone in a short amount of time will be challenging because I can't trust anyone. Can you assist me one more time?"

"Miss, I know... but I told my wife and family that after this assignment, I would be with her in the capital. They opposed my decision to come here, as you are aware." Parrot appeared to be awkward.

"And if the task is in the capital will you do?"

"Oh, if it's the capital, my family and I will unquestionably assist you. Given his legal training and excellent talent, my son may be able to assist you more effectively than I can. I've always wanted him to help you."

He began to fawn about his kid, stating that as his son, he wouldn't be much worse. This may have been true, as he also said that I needed to forge a close bond with the younger blood.

I'll learn more about his son later.

"Anyway is fine. Your next mission is to know the whereabouts and details of my companion and the antidote group headquarters on the border of Belovgad and Freuna. If there is more I will inform you later and also help me keep an eye on my so-called family and some others." I snorted.

"So Parrot I think you should leave for the capital now. I will meet you within a month outside the periphery of Belovgad."

He thought we might travel back to my house in the capital together and wanted to know where I was headed. He stopped, remembering that location had never been my home before, and it would never be following the passing of my grandma.

He was aware that if he questioned me about my travels, I wouldn't respond either. He eventually nags me to take care of myself after discovering I'm not feeling well or has been injured.

I left him at the railway station during the day and, when dusk fell, I made my way to the black market.

I felt like someone was following me, but I couldn't identify them, so I chose to ignore it and continue to explore.

Hoping to find some suitable self-defense mechanism, some ancient books, and herbs at an affordable price, I roamed till I found some of them at some old shops.

The black market is typically perceived as an evil, criminal place. But from my life experience, I've discovered that nothing is truly legal or unlawful, black or white, only grey; Its color fluctuates depending on how you choose to see it, how you perceive it, or a combination of the two.

People's perceptions are sometimes inherited, acquired from their surroundings as they grew up, or occasionally an exception, therefore I can't change that.

Perhaps I won't come back here for a while. I so decided to remain another two days.

I continued to drink medication to improve my health. Do you know that compared to standard medications, herbal ones are more bitter, and I dislike bitter flavors?

But do I have the option not to eat it? In my opinion, no.

I looked for hints throughout the course of those two days but came up empty-handed.

After eating breakfast the following day, I went to the railway station. My next destination will be Weery City, the western city of Ashpor.

A comfortable seat was my choice because I knew it would take me longer than two days.

Two families vacationing together were sitting in the seat just in front of me. They were chatting incessantly about their lives, histories, previous travels, and other topics while seeming so content to be together.

They were chatting so loudly that I could hear every word even though I wasn't trying to overhear their conversation. I used to dream of having a contented family. However, it was never realized.

As I listened to their chitchat, I grew irritated and wished I may have a silent place to avoid the noises. I requested a seat change from the train conductor.

He consented to assist me because the train wasn't filled.

My new location was close to a female ( I think she is in her early twenties).

She had a lovely face, a flawlessly slim form, and curves that made her look like a model or a fairy. Her face was pale, she was trembling, and she was saying something beneath her breath.

Who was I, though? I had an amazing hearing, so I could hear her.

"NOO….. can't be....what to do...not.. possible…what do... shouldn't die.....no.…can't..face…die---" she was muttering continuously.

Her heartbeat was also irregular. She was stimulated by something, and her circumstance was degrading. Oh, dear! She's going to go through a mental collapse, and if others don't watch out for her, she might even kill herself.

Should I assist her or let her family know? But I can't intervene in her life till I fully understand the circumstances. So I reasoned that it would be best if I kept a tight eye on her.

If worst comes to worst, I'll stay with her and knock her out. But if I stay too close without giving a good reason, will people find it odd?

There are no restrictions on people's imagination. Hehehe...
