Chereads / The Mysterious Evolution / Chapter 7 - Rescuing Nia

Chapter 7 - Rescuing Nia

I'll help her because I'm a kind and charming person. Am I wrong?

(If someone who knows me were to listen, they might believe that I've gone insane.)

The female next to me is also a treat to the eyes, and if she passes away, the world would miss a stunning face.

Who doesn't adore beauty, am I right? She didn't appear to be a fake or a wealthy brat either. What is wrong with helping her then?

In truth, I won't aid anyone, but life is important, okay? I don't care about other people's health issues because they don't matter to me. But the girl next to me makes me want to help her even more. Who knows, she could be able to assist me in the days to come.

Without her knowledge, I took her picture and forwarded it to my detective to learn more about her.

The phone seemed cheap and simple to use, so I bought it on the black market. It wasn't any more advanced than my old one, but I managed to make go.

I looked for the antique book in my bag pack since I was unable to assist her now that she was in the same situation. As I love history, I started reading it to pass the time.

I got a message notification an hour later. Now I realize that's what I wanted.

I put down my book as I realized she was in a delicate condition and struggled to determine whether to render her unconscious or transport her to the hospital by alerting the train management staff.

I discovered some herbs in my backpack as I prepared to read the message. How was I able to overlook such things?

I made an effort to find some plants that would help her fall asleep and relax her mind. When I located them, I crushed and combined them with the juice before passing her.

"Hey, please have some juice. It's so refreshing and makes you feel cool." three out of ten for my acting skills but I remain persistent. But surprisingly she took the juice and drank it. I am relieved that I will have more time for her rescue.

Luckily she met me. If people with bad intentions had approached her...then maybe she would have been abducted.

Then I opened my message and began to read as well as observe her from the corner of my eyes.

"Name- Nia

-Aged 23

-A university student, medical genius, and medical researcher at Capital University Research Lab.

-Living with a single mother, the gold medalist student rejected the scholarship and many more facilities from many foreign universities.

-High moral character and well-disciplined.

-Have been conducting some experiments and was about to have a breakthrough in her research suddenly a few days ago resigned from the Capital University Research Lab and traveled to Ohane City ( it's on my way to Weery City).

-After getting on the train, received an anonymous call and some message."

I responded by asking to learn more about the caller's and the message's anonymity. I sense something fishy here.

Nia dozed off as I was reading the message. I cover her in a blanket. I tried to close my eyes after eating lunch so I could rest. The journey was easy. Maybe my medications caused me to have a deep slumber.

When I opened my eyes two hours later, Nia wasn't in her seat. I looked for her in every compartment, went to the bathroom, and even let the conductor know.

I was anxiously wondering if she had killed herself or if something terrible had occurred to her.

She was lying lifeless in the dark corner of the vacant bunk, curled up with her hands over her knees when I discovered her during the search.  She was alive and breathing, which made me feel better.

"Due to her poor sense of direction and fear of being by herself, my acquaintance here got lost. I appreciate everyone's assistance."

I lied because I couldn't mention her mental collapse to anyone in this room. Otherwise, who knows if they'll let her go?

She calmed down as I patted her head, and after a while, she slowly tilted her head upward. She appeared to be experiencing human brutality, greed, and the drive for power for the first time in her life when I noticed her lifeless eyes.

'A scared bunny'

As her situation deteriorated, I knocked her out while guiding her to the seat. If someone witnesses me doing this, I might receive a police complaint or they might consider me to be a beautiful criminal, which would be against the law.

The train🚂 arrived in Ohane City two hours later. I summoned an ambulance to the railway station for an emergency before I got there.

I helped Nia through her uncomfortable predicament by informing the train's higher responsible inspector that she had fainted owing to low blood sugar and weakness.

I lied so many times for this girl in a single day. When I got to the Ohane station, I quickly took her by ambulance to the hospital.  Have to wait for some days to reach Weery City...

I briefly informed the attending physician about her condition before sending her to the emergency room. She was let in. Should I leave her at the hospital or remain the night? Should I call her mum instead?

Presently, no.

The phone's vibration made me think of a recent message I received. Opening a message while seated close in a waiting area.

My eyes became icy as I read, and some of that coldness spread to the area around me. If eyes had the power to kill, someone would have died close to me.

Moreover, what the hell!! Her coworkers accused her of plagiarizing and blamed her for the experiment's fatalities, claiming they had proof, and her boyfriend had threatened her.

She was extorted by an unidentified party to perform the work against her morals and convictions.

All working together to overthrow her. A true Hippocrates!!

Perhaps because she knew something she shouldn't have, someone wants her dead. To uphold morality, she must put her life in danger, as well as the life of her mother.

Additionally, the antidote group appears to be involved, suggesting that perhaps a major event is looming. And who made the most recent call, and what did they tell her?

I need to talk to her because I have a sense that there is more going on than what the eye can see, but I doubt that she will be able to do so. I must wait patiently for it, yet I cannot squander my time in this place.

I had to go visit Weery City as soon as I can. I had no option except to phone Nia's mother. I told her about her daughter's illness and offered some advice after she arrived before leaving the hospital.

I hope she can handle how her daughter is being treated.

'Why was Nia going to Ohane City, there must be a reason, right? Should I discuss it with her mother—won't she have any insight? Why did the antidote group participate in this? Is the pair secure here?'

I'm getting a headache from it.

I paused for a moment before staying back. There would be a neighborhood health campaign in a few days and nothing else in the city of Ohane, so perhaps Nia was considering going.

Was the danger worthwhile?

Only in the future, I would know that I had neglected some other situation here.
