"Noir, what are you expecting to see in that room?" Aiden asked out of curiosity.
"More stuff similar to what we just saw in Adrienne's closet. I'm pretty sure that he didn't mean to hide the body in Adrienne's closet. Something that both of you did probably triggered him to do so."
"Now let's see whether my speculation is correct or not. According to my observations, there must be at least 1 more body or there could be more if we are unlucky."
Everyone went into the room that was right in front of the room where both of them were spending time. Since there was no other way for them to open the door they bashed open the door.
It was not just one. Everyone stayed still as they were stunned.
There were 7 bodies, some were already half disposed and non of the bodies seemed to be recent ones but the body they saw in the closet was indeed someone who was killed today.
"Why didn't we feel any sort of smell while we were here?" Adrienne asked.
"It's because of the powder that is put on the dead bodies. No matter how much they spoiled they wouldn't have ever smelled. I assume it's chlorine."
"Senior officer, the forensics team is here."
"Alright, thank you for your cooperation. We will take care of the situation here and I don't think that you will be able to stay in this house any longer."
"Oh yes, I am aware of that," Aiden said with a smile. "I am planning to burn this house down once you are all done with the investigation process. So take your time and let me know when you are done with the investigation."
"I am disgusted enough not to stay in this house any longer," He turned away from the corpses and walked out.
"Would it be alright if we go back?" Noir asked the officer.
"No. We still have to accompany that lady to the police station and when we are done with her work all of you can go home."
"Alright, we have no plans on meddling with the investigation any longer. We shall find a hotel to stay in and will send you the room numbers. We will not leave until we are done with this."
"We will escort you to a hotel by ourselves. Once the forensics results come out and once your innocence is proved. You all can go back to the place you came from." He talked with the usual smirk on his face. As if he was purposely trying to trap us all into one place.
"I will look for a place for all of us to stay. I am not even sure whether we will be able to find a proper hotel to stay at this rate and the other problem is that helicopter." Aiden said, looking out.
"Noir ask the pilot to return to the central city. My car is in the parking lot. That will be enough for us to travel and get someplace to stay."
"He picked up his phone and started going through all the nearby hotels. Damn it, they all look garbage, I can't even imagine staying in a place like this."
"Aiden calm down. This won't last for long. We can probably go home within the next few days."
"There is a probability there Adrienne, I don't have time to spare for this nonsense. Because of my stupid actions, Noir got dragged into this as well. We need someone at the company and we will have to postpone the signing event as well."
"Aiden, do you think we should use our contacts with the police to sort this out?" Noir asked, realising how much trouble postponing the signing event can bring.
"No, absolutely not. 2 days and that's it. They can only hold us and interrogate us for 48 hours. They will not be able to hold us much longer than that."
"Regarding the signing event, call and ask if it is possible to postpone. If it is not possible then let it be. I can send you there anyways. They won't hold you here."
"If that happens, I would like you to sign the contract on my behalf."
"No worries about that Aiden but they have high hopes for you. I can go and simply sign it but it is not me that they are waiting for."
There wasn't anything in Aiden's head. It felt as if he was running out of options but deep down he was regretting his decisions. Though he wasn't blaming it on Adrienne, he was blaming it all indirectly on Adrienne.
Realising that Aiden was in distress, Adrienne took a foot forward. She was about to sacrifice her innocence so that he could leave.
"Stop right there! What you are about to do is not right. You will end up with another charge on yourself even if it is not for this thing."
"But how did he know?" She thought in her head not being able to figure out how he figured out what she was trying to do.
"Adrienne you don't have to blame anything on yourself." Aiden said, holding onto her hand.
"We need to leave, don't we?" She asked.
"Yes, we have to do that but that is not the only issue we have to deal with right now, something even more serious than that is the contract."
In her mind yet she was puzzled just like him trying to figure out what they should do. She too was running out of options.
"Why is this hell of an officer so hooked up on us?" He started thinking in his head. Just then he realised that it is his trust they have to gain in order to get out of this place.
But his mind had never known how to be nice to someone. The only other people he has acted nice to were only towards Noir's family and Adrienne.
"We still have 48 hours and we are lucky to have him with us," Aiden said, looking at their lawyer who was still talking to the police.
"Let's just all go down and look for a way to solve the issue at the company while we wait for the police to talk to us again."
"That freaking bastard needs to go to hell." Noir said. Hearing him cursing was very rare and Aiden was the only person who had heard him say those words before.
Everyone else who heard him was surprised and looked at him as if it was someone else pretending to be Noir.
"Did I surprise you guys?" He turned around and asked everyone who was stunned by his sudden words.
"No, not at all Master Noir," Adrienne said with an awkward smile on her face.
"Do we really have to negotiate with the police?" Adrienne asked, still thinking that it would have been better if they decided to keep this a secret.
"No not at all, we are only heading to Paris. I think we will be able to negotiate with the police about the conditions of not leaving the country and coming to the station to assist them with the investigation anytime they want."
"We can just use a few connections just in case." Noir said.
"In that case. I shall go and talk with our lawyer and if this works out we can go home this evening itself."
"Good." Aiden said.
