"HOW OLD WERE YOU?"
"24," also three years older than I was. "My girlfriend and my brother killed me," that's tough.
"I smell drama. So, when exactly did you break free from your nightmare?" He was still refusing to look me in the eyes.
"Hours ago. I ran as fast as I could, getting away from those... Creatures... Until I found this place!" My house.
Sigh. "You mean, my house?! I guess you don't know anything about Hell, then. And those creatures, are all demons. Very much like yourself, sweetheart," my sarcasm made him look up at me, and he met my eyes.
"Demons? You don't look like a demon to me!"
"I was also disappointed when I died. As you must have expected, I was waiting for red-skinned creatures, with fangs, black wings, big-ass horns, and a reign bathed in fire," he giggled. "Hell is not like that. Some may say it's better than the human world, some say it's worst, but that depends on the demon."
"What do you think?" I hate it, but it's better than the Light Realm, and better than my life in the Human realm as well. "It's better or worse?"
Rolling my shoulders, I looked at the bookshelves on the wall in front of me. "Well, I'll tell you a secret..." I gave him the time to tell me his name.
"Adam!" I giggled when I heard that. "What's with this reaction?"
"I'll tell you two secrets," I said cackling. "First, my life as a human was dreadful. And," I looked at him from head to toe, bursting with laughter. "I had a dog called Adam."
He didn't seem to believe me. "Are you mocking me now?" Why is he so serious?
"Kind of, yeah. But I was serious. I had a dog called Adam. He was a golden retriever, barked a lot, but didn't even dare to step on a bee," that is until he also died.
Adam seemed more relaxed around me. "You ain't what I thought a demon would be. Can you tell me your name, or is it also a secret?" Oh.
"Sorry, for that. How rude of me," I got up and bowed mockingly. "My name is Pandora Cassielys, and I'm a very old and dangerous demon."
"You have a beautiful name, well, not just the name," is he flirting with me? "From the little time I've been here, you are probably the most beautiful... Demon I've seen. Frighteningly gorgeous!" Yes, he is hitting on me.
"I appreciate the compliment, but don't flirt with me, sweetheart, you're playing with fire," he smirked.
"I'm already dead, Pandora," foolish talk.
"That are things worse than death for a demon, Adam. You will see that. And what part of 'old and dangerous' didn't you understand?" He rolled his eyes.
"You seem younger than me!" Oh, no shit, Sherlock!
"That's because I died when I was 21, dumbass. And you shouldn't be here, by the way. But I'll let it slide because you are only three years old!" He seemed confused, I used to be as well. "In demon age. It starts counting when you died, comes to Hell, consequently becoming a demon!"
Adam nodded. "But why do we become demons when we die?"
"Do I look like I know that?" He said nothing. "No, idiot, I don't know. I'm only 1177 years, not hundreds of thousands," that shocked him.
"You? You are 1177 years old? What the hell?"
"Literally!" This joke will forever be funny. "Every single human who dies and does not please the hypocrites of the Light Realm is sent to Hell and becomes a demon. It was always like this. The only people who might know the reason are the King and the first demon," and I don't know any of them.
"Who are they?" He looks like a kid, asking about everything. "Who's the King? Is it Lucifer?"
"No one knows. It's the biggest secret here. And if even the Seven Generals of Hell don't know anything about the King, no one knows. He only orders everyone around in the shadows, and he's ridiculously powerful. No one knows his name, but I doubt it would be Lucifer. Although lots of demons may believe in that," not as I care though.
"Who are the Seven Generals of Hell?" He sat on the balcony of my kitchen, way too comfortable.
"The seven rulers besides the King. Each of them has jurisdiction in Hell, and they get some privileges as well. They are the ones who represent the seven deadly sins," Adam got even more curious.
"You mean Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth?" At least he knows that.
"The order is quite wrong, but yes! The strongest is Envy, followed by Gluttony, Pride, Lust, Greed, Wrath, and Sloth. Four of them are females, three are males. They are very much the strongest demons in Hell after the King himself," I know I am!
"In which jurisdiction are we in?" Finally a good question.
"We are in the jurisdiction of Pride! Although literally, no one lives in the Dead Woods. But if you head about a thousand miles south, you will find the Castle of the General of Pride. It's a female, by the way. And scary as fuck!"
"I can't even imagine what horrible things did they do when they were alive, to become a General of Hell!" Not a pleasant story.
"That depends on the General. One of them was a cannibal. Another was a serial killer. Then there's the one who slaves and abused sexually of lots of people. And there's also one General who died because he killed all the guys who bullied him at school," and Toshi is also the best out of them.
When he didn't say anything, I turned to him and found him staring at me. "Why do I feel like you are dangerous and I shouldn't be around you?"
"Because you shouldn't, Adam!" I got up and turned to the books on my bookshelves. "No one knows I live here, and I would be glad if you kept that a secret," I turned my eyes to meet his, making sure he knew it was a treat.
"Are you threatening me?" Smarter than I thought.
"Yes," I don't have a reason to lie.
"Who are you?" Oh, my dear.
"That's classified!" He giggled.
"Okay! I swear I'll keep it a secret. But I want to know who you are!" I don't like this. Especially when he doesn't seem to be the normal kind of demon. "But first, could you dress up? It's distracting to see you just covered with a towel," I looked down and realized he was right.
"What? Never saw a female's naked body?"
"I did. But it's not like I can do to you, what I did to the last woman I saw naked," that made me stare at him and he stared intensively back at me, making me swallow hard.
Sigh. "You know, this is this jurisdiction of Pride, not Lust. If you keep having those thoughts, you should go there," with that I turned my back on him. "Because you might not be able to resist staying in the same place as me. I know how attractive I am, even when I'm not trying," I looked at him over my shoulder. "And I'm not the type of demon to give in to this type of desire, sweetheart!"
