"Teacher, hang on a bit there. I'll go grab some plates to have them." Rick got up from his chair, and went back to the kitchen.
"So this is what you like. Chocolate cake." Irvyn spoke up, gaining Yvette's attention.
"Yes. I do. And you can't have a birthday celebration without a cake, now can you?" Yvette replied to him happily. "This kid I tell you. Just because he saw I am not the type of person to celebrate my birthday, he went ahead and made this deal with me, to celebrate my birthday every year from this onwards." Yvette had a fond gaze in her eyes, recalling those days from last year. "Rick has been such a good kid. I somehow wish he was my own little brother. He has been doing more than a family would ever do, for the past year."
