Chapter 2 - Two

She pulled down her fur coats and made a new outfit. The only food on this pilgrimage was the roots of large plants and a kind of peculiar round fruits of green color, which grow low on the ground on massive shrubs. Everything must first be cleaned of the ashes that fall without stop. If the earth starts to tremble and explosions can be heard in the distance that deafar the whole country, then Roxana will lie down on the ground to relish this horror. Sometimes it is explosions, not only volcanoes, that began to show enormous activity, but also human achievements from thousands of years ago, which provided humanity with energy. In the latter case, often in the epicenter of these structures, which exist only deep underground, the surface of the earth is torn apart and gigantic craters are formed there. Then the groundwater gets into them, which creates large lakes and rivers. Therefore, it is impossible to set a route for the ancestor, after which the pilgrim will reach his destination. At each step, an obstacle lurks, and the pilgrim has to change direction several times. For those who have failed to prevent wild dog attacks, this pilgrim has become fatal. Occasionally you can see their skeletons lying in the woods in tall grass. That's where the four-legided attackers hide and pull their catches behind them. Roxana travels west for the second winter, where you can sometimes see flashes from distances that everyone dreams of. Mexico maintains ecological stability on the ground as best it can. A thousand years ago, technicians from Mexico were balancing the weather, but that got out of control over time. On various magnetic flying machines, they evacuated people and brought them to Mexico. They tried to cleanse watercourses from poisons that got into rivers and lakes by blasts of volcanoes and ancient human achievements. They made every effort to save this dark country, but success did not come. The weather was getting worse, the waters were rising and the volcanoes were bursting. Once it was decided that it was not possible to further treat and save nature and people, they suspended their activities and left. They never came back. They stopped caring about how many people were left living here. They say there's no more rescue for this dark country. Roxana was too exhausted to stop believing that one day the ocean would happen. Somewhere in the distance, she could hear the water humming, perhaps a big river. She collected the last remnants of the force and went for the roar. Her legs started betraying her, her hands bitten off from the dogs she was seducing with every day. She started losing power. In the end, she had to rest. Skint by a large old tree, she fell asleep holding a spear in front of her. The instinct she built up in difficult and dangerous training for her life also served her sleep. In the event of a live creature approaching, it immediately jumps to its feet and takes a fighting position. But she slept peacefully this night and didn't have to fight any hungry crazy dogs. She covered up in furs, which she pulled down from her hair while wandering and fell asleep. The ashes fell without stop, the water in the distance was roaring... Roxane's dream was a tower that everyone in this earth dreams of. A tower that exceeds the height of the clouds. It can be seen from the shore to the shore, to the highways, where life has long since disappeared, and everything has found itself in storms and explosions that beautify the infinitely falling ash. A tower that provides home to all the residents living in Mexico, as well as the pilgrims who have come here from this country of nothing. This tower provides drinking water, food, fruits and vegetables that are grown on the floors of this complex. Its walls are built of special material, that resists radiation, explosions and weather, even if it rampaes at full power. Every child born here knows the stories of this country and the tower from which to see up to the clouds. A country where children play children's games and no one and nothing threatens them. The security systems around the border protect the whole country on their own, so it is impossible to disturb this peace. At every residential complex except this tower, it is part of a shuttle that can fly off at any time for a round trip around the ground. This nation has reached the peak of technological advances and is already setting up stations on other planets. While it is still possible to exist on earth, they do not leave, they only prepare the conditions for life elsewhere. They know the day will come when everyone has to leave. They'll be ready for it. They have peaked in aerospace and other technologies. Roxana was slowly waking up. She realized she had her legs submerged in water. She jumped off the ground and took combat positions. There was a forest behind her back, but dark humming water in front of her. She was standing on the shores of a gigantic lake that wasn't here before. She realised the gravity of the situation and sat down in this dark water. She's tired. It cannot change direction and again bypass all the obstacles that arise here in one night. She took her spear and went to the woods. She started putting together thick branches and tearing lianas from trees that were entangled in their branches. She started working on making a simple raft. She decided to take the water this time and sail this obstacle on a raft, wherever it washed her away. Maybe her fight is already lost, maybe the country has changed so that she won't even be able to complete this pilgrim after a new life. It may be over, and the water in this country has flooded all the transient roads that still existed, but she had no plans to give up. The job ended after a long time, but she still went between the screams to tear up roots and livelihoods as she didn't know how long she would be at water. There's no method to find out anymore. This time is equal to prehistoria. Stone, wood, fur coats... and occasionally metal artifacts found from which weapons can be made to defend against invaders. When she was done tearing up the livelihood, she tied everything up with the lianas and put it on a raft. She was slowly pulled to the water. She entered the water and pulled her to the surface. She went to the raft and looked up. Another storm was approaching, which will smy from the ground even what's left of it. With a long stick, she bounced off the shore and set off on a dark water cruise. The ash fell on the water surface, causing the effect of silver water. The water wasn't calm, but it was moving forward. Roxana didn't even have to use a reflective stick because the current was carrying her alone, not know where. She lay down on a raft and watched the ashes fall all around. In the distance, menacing lightning can be seen ravaging this unfortunate country. Winds also picked up, adding to the speed of the voyage. Fish in these waters have long since died out. Sulfur from the underground poisoned the watercourses. In the water, a person will no longer find a livelihood. If this voyage had taken a very long time and Roxana had not made it to shore in time to pluck up new supplies of roots, it would have been her last trip. She wouldn't survive. You can't see any shore yet. The raft is homing from side to side. The wind drives it once, it stops once. She had no idea where this water would take her, but she believed in saving her. When she closed her tired eyes, she fell asleep. You could no longer hear the storm, just the waves hitting the raft. The night was long and Roxana was asleep. Over the morning, Roxana, along with a raft, was buried with ashes that she could not even be seen. She slowly shook everything up and looked at the water with carelessly.
