"Why do you look so unhappy on our wedding day, my love," she was surprised to hear the voice of her now husband, the king of the humans.
"Your subjects are not so happy about this union. There is nothing to be happy about with this," she said, remembering the fake smiles and polite replies she got from those she was able to talk to and the stares she got when the people did not think she would notice.
Now that the brief ceremony was over, she finally had a chance to rest in their bedchamber.
It was so hard for her to resist attacking those in attendance. She has been so hungry just imagining drinking all the blood that has been spread for her in a bouquet.
"You have done well, my love. I am so proud of you, you know," he pulls her close to him, kissing her forehead as she trembled.
"What is the matter?" he asked, keeping her at arm's length to see if something was wrong with her.
