"You have been silent since we got home," he sat her on the sofa and kneeled in front of her.
"Tell me what's on your mind," he took her hands and kissed them.
"I'm not thinking of anything. I'm just tired," she smiled, but even she was aware the smile won't fool him.
He frowned and caressed her cheek, "Why do you lie to me, my love? Don't you know I can tell when you are not being truthful?"
She shook her head but no words came to her mouth, she couldn't say any more lies but she also couldn't tell him how pathetic she actually felt.
"Shhhh, baby don't cry," he wiped away her tears with his fingers.
She clung to him, sobbing even more as she pressed her lips to his neck. She felt like she couldn't breathe.
He embraced her tightly, "Baby, please tell me what's wrong. This way I can fix it. Just tell me what you want me to do, my love."
