Phoenix's eyes were closed. She was standing in the middle of the flower field again. But she knew better now that this was a dream.
While she was soaking the beauty of the field and the warm sunlight that fell on her skin, she heard a faint chatter brought by the wind.
"She is still sleeping."
"It's already morning. We should wake her up."
"No. Let her sleep. She must be tired."
"But I want breakfast!"
"I'll prepare breakfast for you."
"Auntie can cook? I want a croissant."
"….."
"You know what? Let's just wake your mommy up."
Slowly, Phoenix's eyes fluttered open. Her vision slowly became clearer and what she saw was Sienna and Mia standing by her bed, whispering in not so low voices.
"I'm awake," Phoenix said. Her voice was hoarse, but Sienna and Mia still heard it.
"Mommy! You're awake!" Sienna climbed on the bed and pounced on Phoenix.
"Oh good. You've woken up," Mia beamed a smile.
