Chapter 32 - Mother and Daughter

Jasmine goes into her house, seeing Rosie had been waiting for her with a sweet smile and bright face. The curiosity is clearly drawing on her face. Jasmine smiles back. She rushes and cheerful steps towards Rosie. She sits in front of her mama.

"So … since when?" Rosie asks. She can't help to wait for her daughter to tell by herself.

"Almost a month," Jasmine answers, her face blushing red.

"Is he your schoolmate?"

"Um … yeah," Jasmine answers with hesitation. Because she knows that Rosie sure doesn't like it if Jasmine had a rich boyfriend, Rosie doesn't want Jasmine to have the same faith as her. A bitter and disappointing future.

"ALDE HS, He must be a rich boy." Rosie guesses.

"Yeah, you're right. But … take it easy, Mama. He isn't as rich as you think. He is from an ordinary family." Jasmine lies. Leonardo is the richest boy in this city.

"Hahaha, why are you afraid, Jasmine? It's okay if you have a rich boyfriend. As long as you guys love each other and he can accept you unconditionally." Rosie strokes her daughter's hair.

"It's because Mama said that you don't like the riches. They are arrogant and hate the poor." Jasmine holds her chin with one hand. She tells her mom about her fear.

"Yeah, that's right. Mama once said for your own good.. Let me hear your story, Sweetheart. I want to know more about this little lion." Rosie does the same thing as Jasmine, holding her head with one hand and waiting for her girl to speak.

"Leon is an ordinary boy, Ma. He is a good boy, clever, pretty, fanny, and the most important thing, he loves me, and I love him. So Mama, don't be afraid. Leon surely will good take care of Jasmine." Jasmine smiles wide.

"Mama knows it, Jasmine. Mama knows he is a good boy because you chose him by yourself. And mama thrust your choice." Rosie pats Jasmine's backhand and makes Jasmine cry, moved.

"Huh? Why are you crying, Baby? Is it supposed to be a happy story, right? Rosie looks at Jasmine with curiosity.

"Nope, just because Jasmine is too happy to hear it, Ma." Jasmine wipes her tears.

"Come here!!" Rosie hugs Jasmine. They enjoy this touching moment a little more. But, Suddenly, Rosie remembers something important to say.

"Oh, Jas, This is my bank account book. I save this money for your high school bill." Rosie grabs a bank book and hands it to Jasmine.

"Ma ... It..." Jasmine notices the count. It's quite a lot.

"These some money that Mama saved for your high school tuition fee. Not much only can be your pin money at ALDE HS. But ... Mama could only give you this much, Baby." Rosie says. She feels shame for herself because she can not give everything to Jasmine. She always makes Jasmine work hard to help her complete fill their family's needs. Because of her, Jasmine can not buy pretty dresses or fashion-style appearances like other teenage girls.

"It's more than enough, Ma." Jasmine shedding tears that keep falling and sprinkles the bank book in Jasmine's tight grip.

"Last day of this month, Mama will go to the village to catch up with uncle Sanchez. Are you sure you don't want to stay with us?" Rosie holds her daughter's hands so tight.

"So ... it's only a week before you leave," Jasmine asks her back sadly, "If I go with you, how about my school?" Jasmine sobs; she feels heavy to separate from her mom but doesn't want to give up her dream and Leon's love.

"Well, it's okay if you want to stay with us, Honey. It's only two hours by train. We can visit if we are missing each other." Rosie caresses Jasmine's hair.

"Yes, Ma. promise me you will live happily ever after with uncle Sanchez." Jasmine nods.

"Of course, I will, Baby."

"marry him and have a dozen babies!!" Jasmine teases her mom. Rosie only laughs.

"Hahaha, That can be arranged, Honey! Of course, we will marry, but after, our restaurant can run well." Rosie says gladly.

"Jasmine will pray, so your dream and business will succeed." She stands up in front of her mom.

"Sure, My Girl! Let's go to sleep. Mama wants to hug you seven nights full this week to enjoy our last moment before I leave." Rosie asks.

"Hah?? Isn't Mama already hugging me every day until I feel tight and can not breathe because your radish feet are always on my tummy? Jasmine tweets her comment, her mouth pouting.

"hahaha, This girl!! you clearly can not cooperate with my cheezy chat." Rosie pinches her nose. "Turn off your grumpy attitudes, Baby!! You are a girl! Your manner should be sweet and cute." Rosie nags while holding Jasmine's hand and walking to the room.

"Well... okay, I'll try!!" Jasmine says with pouted lips.

Rosie giggled, her daughter is indeed a little unique, but that's Jasmine's personality. Quite, strong, independent, outspoken, and also indifferent. Not rude, just firm, although easily angry and emotional, but her personality is warm. Rosie loves Jasmine very much. For her, Jasmine is the only reason to survive in this cruel world. There is nothing more Rosie wants to fight for than her daughter's dreams and aspirations.

They spend the night chatting, telling stories, and sharing experiences and affection between a mother and child. Finally, Rosie falls asleep from exhaustion after a whole day of work.

"Stay healthy, Mama." Jasmine kisses Rosie's forehead, her eyes welling with tears, "Jasmine's prayers are always for your health and happiness, Mama." Jasmine watches Rosie's face until she falls asleep too.
