"Hmmn…" A pained groan escaped the pale lips of the woman who laid still on the large bed.
In the next second, the voice froze when she realized something extraordinary.
'How am I still alive?' She questioned herself at the baffling discovery she had just made.
The last memory that she could recall was the deafening sound of a loud explosion that resonated in her ears before everything went blank.
She had been in a plane that was flying over a vast ocean when that terrible episode had taken place so moments before she lost all consciousness, she had already concluded that an unfortunate accident had occurred.
If her assumption that the plane had crashed due to an unexpected malfunction was right then she should have been dead right at this moment.
'Are dead people supposed to feel pain?' She wondered because the pain rippling through her throat and chest was not something she assumed was possible for a dead corpse floating in the ocean.
She had heard in the past that when a plane crashed midair, the passengers inside would feel weightlessness while the aircraft took a nosedive.
However, she had not experienced any of that as she had already lost consciousness after the loud blast echoed within the pressurized chamber of the aircraft.
Therefore, back then, her deduction that she was moments away from her death due to a plane crash seemed reasonable.
Now that she seemed to have regained consciousness, she wondered if she was wrong to assume so.
'Were we rescued?' She speculated what had led to this unexpected outcome.
As astonishing as that might be, this thought made her glad that she had managed to survive that terrible accident.
The strong scent of disinfectant that wafted into her nose strengthened her belief in being rescued from the crash.
She could have been brought to a hospital after being rescued which explained both the pain she just felt and the strong scent she had caught.
To ensure that she had reached the right conclusion, she decided to open her eyes and take a look around to confirm her deductions.
However, before she could act on her thoughts, a piercing pain shot through her mind, making it impossible for her to focus on anything but this pain.
With her eyes still closed, she felt her head spin when numerous memories began filling her mind.
Thankfully she was laid on the bed because the impact of these sudden memories flashing across her eyes would have caused her to faint and fall to the ground.
She did not know how long it had been but these strange memories kept zooming past her eyes without stopping for even a second.
She witnessed a bubbly childhood, an introverted teenager, and finally a tiresome adulthood all from a single person's perspective.
By the time these memories reached their end, she already knew exactly where she was and how she had landed herself in this hospital bed.
'Heh! So I have an allergy in this life as well!' She scowled at this body which was similar to the one she previously owned in her last life.
That was right, she possessed a different body in the past, the one which had died and gone down in flames during the plane crash.
Her previous assumption of surviving the plane crash was proven wrong by the memories that had now filled her mind.
This helped her realize that right now, she was inside the body of a different person who just happened to have the same name as her.
The memories she had gained a moment ago also belonged to the person whose body she was now in.
Unlike her who had been an orphan most of her life, this body had a family who loved her dearly.
Since she was familiar with the fictional theory of transmigration, she had not panicked right away and caused a scene but was trying to assimilate everything that had taken place to her.
She did not know how or why she had woken up in this new body but the one thing she was confident about was that this person loved her family as much as they loved her.
Thinking about family, her hand which had been laid by her side, slowly moved towards her flat stomach, caressing and swirling her hand over the flimsy material of the hospital gown she was now wearing.
Her gentle movements were a subconscious response of this body which she too had failed to notice as she was lost deep in her thoughts.
"Until when were you planning to hide this news from me?" A smooth voice echoed from a silent corner of the room, startling her and drawing her out of her reverie.
With her eyes now flashing open, she turned towards where the sound was coming from only to find a pair of narrowed eyes staring in her direction.
Since the room was still dark, she could not see who this person was but the voice sounded excessively familiar to her.
"B-brother?" She uttered before she even knew it, revealing the identity of the person inside this hospital room with her.
By now she has gained a better grasp on her situation so she could tell that a part of her earlier assumption was right as she was indeed inside a hospital room.
However, it wasn't because she was rescued after the plane crash she had been in but it was this body that had been brought to the hospital after going into an anaphylactic shock due to her allergy acting up.
The one who had brought her here was also the man who was now making his way toward her.
There was no light pouring into the room from the window which indicated that it was already nighttime in this new place she had found herself in.
The only source of light was the little bed lamp next to the hospital bed she was currently on.
"You haven't answered my question, Chansey." The man who had stalked his way toward her reminded her that she had yet to state her reasons for what she had done.
Now that he was so close to her, she could make out his appearance better which startled her when she noticed how beautiful this man was.
Not only was he tall but just by looking at the well-fitted clothes he was wearing, she could tell that he was also muscular and well-built.
However, she stopped admiring his appearance when she recalled the name he had just called her.
'Chansey?' She grimaced and frowned as this was not the name she possessed in the past.
However, before she could mull deeper into this deviation she came across, a memory popped up in her mind which helped her understand this discrepancy better.
"Brother, my name is Camille, not Chansey!" She corrected him before rolling her eyes at him.
The memory she just received was concerning a certain incident regarding the relationship between these siblings.
This body had the same name as her previous self, Camille, however, her elder brother, who as a child happened to be an avid follower of the animated series about pocket monsters had asked his parents to name their second child after the famous nurse character in that show.
While their parents could not agree to his demands, they suggested that he could use that name as a nickname between the siblings.
Thus the beautiful name Camille had turned into Chansey in her brother's mouth ever since she was born.
While the now Camille was making sense of how the relationship between the siblings had been until now, the man who stood next to her bed was observing her every expression.
He had been waiting for the last five hours for his baby sister to regain consciousness after fainting earlier this evening.
Therefore, he did not care about her complaints but chose to focus on what was more important to him.
Thus, he pulled a chair and sat next to her bed, staring at her with those stern eyes which caused her body to stiffen.
"Who is the father of the child?" He interrogated through gritted teeth when his eyes fell on the gentle movements which she used to rub her belly even now.
