"Chi! Chi, why dont you sit here instead?" Zeal shot across the public bath water and pulled Chi away from the other two. Positioning him closer to Tyson he could see the clear signs of tension leaving Tyson's face instantly. It felt instantly like he had avoided his own death by a hair.
Chi's face flushed once he realized he was closer to Tyson. Slight shivers coming from his body as he couldn't keep himself still. Having only realized his own feelings for the man he did not know how to react anymore when around him.
"Does your wound feel better?" Tyson's question sounded soft and calming to Chi's ears. A simple question and yet it gave his heart so many emotions that Chi could not understand completey himself. It was a puzzle to him how the man could have such a strong effect on him.
"Yes. Thank you." Chi spoke with a quiver in his voice.
Tyson could see that Chi was having a hard time looking him in the eyes. It was not something that he would miss no matter how hard Chi tried to hide it.
What has my little rabbit so nervous? Tyson asked himself as he watched Chi closely. The others were talking away in the background but he did not register anything in his own mind that they spoke about til a voice called out for him.
"Tyson, what do you do in your world?" Zeal's voice was the one who brought him back to reality.
"Hm?" Tyson did not like being asked about his personal life. In that moment he wished he still had his demonic mask to hide his own annoyed expression as he lowered his gaze to the bath water.
"Come on.. Tai's an heir to his clan and when it comes to me in my world naturally come from a wealthy family though I ain't no royalty.. so what's your deal in yours?" Zeal pushed a bit harder to get the man to say something. If they were to work together it helped ease the tension a bit if they could get some things out in the open.
"Don't-" Tyson wanted to tell Zeal to not bring him into the matter when he found himself silenced by the glint in Chi's eyes. Those blue eyes gazed at him with pure interest and made him pause in his own words. It was like he had been caught in a trap. A heavy sigh escaped him.
"I.. Had a family once." Tyson spoke in the simplest way he could. There was nothing much to his life anymore since the garden had become such a big part of who he was. He had no fancy title and he was not from a wealthy family.
"What do you mean you had a family?" Fae was the one who spoke up as he wondered what those words meant. He was not the only one who wanted to ask but simply Fae was the only one who had the courage to.
"Ten years of the garden can have its own effect on you." Tyson explained simply. Not willing to go deeper into details. It was obvious to the others that he was not willing to explain and nobody had the courage to speak up on the matter again.
As Tyson closed his eyes sitting there he could still remember the last day that he saw his parents. The way they would look at him and treat him as if he was a stranger. After the loss of his sister they had pushed him away and even openly blamed him because she had been with him that day. Unable to tell them the truth about Numen's Garden he could only accept the blame and he had no interest in not accepting it because he truly did blame himself for losing her within the garden.
"What about you, Chi?" Zeal asked in order to look for someone else to start talking. The mood was beginning to feel gloomy and that was not what he was looking for.
"I just live in the city with family. Nothing fancy really.." Chi smiled brightly as he knew the real reason he was being asked was to lighten the mood. His eyes stealing glances at Tyson to make sure he was alright.
"That sounds so dull.. I find it wrong that Tai has the most exciting life out of this group!" Zeal did not want to agree with the idea of Tai being the one out of them to have the most interesting background.
"What's wrong with my life being more interesting then yours?" Tai asked as he sat there. The crow's wings flinging themselves open as Zeal sent water flying towards him in protest.
"Childish." Tyson muttered under his breath while listening to them.
A loud thud could be heard as a giant vine smacked itself down right on top of Zeal's head causing the man to faceplant right down into the bath water.
"If you're all done bathing, I had lunch prepared for you all." King Sobek said as he walked up to the bath. A warm smile on his face as he casually had the vine retract itself from holding Zeal under the bath water. At the motion of his movement it was a wonder if he simply did not care that he had openly smacked Zeal with the vine or if he thought being casual would keep them from noticing.
"What the hell?!" Zeal burst out coughing from having been knocked under the water by the vine out of nowhere. The back of his head stung from how hard it had been struck.
The king's emerald green eyes slowly shot in Zeal's direction giving him a cold chill.
"Please, be mindful of other's property." King Sobek scolded as he glared sharply at Zeal. He did not mind that they used the bathing area in his castle but he did not like others abusing it. The castle was one of the few things he had in the garden to care for.
"Sorry, sorry!" Zeal said as he rubbed the back of his head. Whether he meant the apology or not it was unknown but one thing was clear. He did not want to get whacked on the back of the head with King Sobek's plants again.
The soft warm sound of Chi's voice as he laughed at the sight gave Tyson's chest a warm feeling. Naturally he hated others making a ruckus around him but at the moment he could only feel that just maybe having the others around a bit longer could be a good thing.
