Duan Cai and Shea ended up getting a room with two separate beds in it. Duan Cai stayed on the one closest by the door to keep his guard up in case anything happened. He had Shea take the bed closer to the hotel windows. There was a large sliding door that opened up so that you could walk out onto a terrace to see a beautiful view of the city lights at night. Shea was already standing at the window view, without going outside on the terrace, and day dreaming at the city lights. The only thought Duan Cai had towards the view was that it'd been nicer if the city lights were darker so he could actually see the stars instead.
"So beautiful.!." Shea muttered under her breath excited to see the view.
"You take a shower first." Duan Cai said to her as he lay down on his bed and closed his eyes.
His eyes did not need to be open to know that Shea's face had blushed again at his words. The sounds of her scurrying nervously off to the bathroom to shower filled the room as he kept his eyes closed without interest. After she was in the bathroom he could hear the sound of the running water and sighed lightly. It was finally quiet and he could take a moment to himself to relax. Tension started to leave him as a wave of drowsiness started to take him over and before long he felt himself falling asleep.
After a while Duan Cai's eyes started to flutter open. Shea's embarrassingly flushed face was the first sight he saw. A sudden urge to tease her started to wash over him the moment he caught her there. She had been leaning down over him to look at his face while he was resting and it irked him in a way that made him feel puzzled. The puzzled feeling itself was enough to make him feel annoyed and he wanted to get rid of that feeling in some way.
"I- I'm sorry!" She shouted as she tried to lean back up and move away quickly when she realized she had been caught looking at him. Her face was blushing and she didn't know what to say to him.
Duan Cai's hand suddenly grasped her wrist firmly and her body shivered nervously. Pulling Shea back towards himself her body flopped onto her back beside him and he lifted his own body up to lean over hers. His right hand was holding her wrist above her head as he stared into her eyes. He could see her eye contact shaking nervously from his actions and a sudden feeling of excitement came over him as he felt joy in her reaction. It was a feeling that he could not understand and caused him to grit his teeth as he tried to figure himself out.
"Damn.. Things seem so dark at times its really annoying.." He mumbled to himself as he thought about how dark his life felt around him at times. He could no longer understand himself since his mortal body was forcing him to feel things he'd never known before. At times he felt like a frog trapped in the bottom of a well, unable to see the light of day. There were so many things in what he felt that he could not understand. Shea had heard what he mumbled to himself but she could not understand what he meant by it, but she knew him well enough to know that something was bothering him and tried to think of something to say to make him feel better.
"If.. If your day feels like it's raining, look for a rainbow.. If your day seems dark, look for a star.. No matter how hard something seems just find your light to guide you.." She blushed as she felt like what she had just said was extremely cheesy but she simply wanted to help him feel better.
"What?" He asked as something about her words caused a feeling of warmth through his chest. It was a strange feeling and he found it very comfortable. It was obvious to him that she had no way to know that in a similar way and he found it interesting that she'd say something like that to him. In his mind he already had a couple people he considered close as though they were stars in his darkness he considered his life. A strange feeling started to take him over as he contemplated on what it was. Several things were going through his mind as he tried to understand what the feeling was and what it might mean. He could not understand himself at the moment but something about the moment was getting to him, or was it because it was her? He found himself questioning many things in that moment.
"I'm sorry, I know I'm not the best at comforting you but-"
Shea found herself cut off from talking as Duan Cai's lips were suddenly against her own. A blush washed over her face in that moment as a wave of excitement caused her body to shiver from head to toe. He was kissing her and in her mind it felt soft and sweet. It was an action that went against Duan Cai's usual actions but for some reason he felt like he could not control himself. Something inside his chest wanted to kiss Shea while at the same time he could not figure out what that something was. At a second thought he wondered if he was sick and simply could not control his own bodily reactions but the more he thought about it the more it just caused his head to hurt. While he was kissing her he could feel her wrapping her arms around him as he kept his body leaning over hers til he parted from their kiss.
"Time for you to head to bed. I'm going to shower." He bluntly said as he removed himself from his position and headed for the bathroom. The door slamming locked behind him as the hotel room was engulfed in silence. Shea was not sure what had happened but it was obvious that he had fled from her as quickly as he could after realizing what he had done.
