Chapter 12 - A Walk through History

"What the actual fuck are you talking about!?" the two shout at him.

Remulus expression turns grim as he stood up, the two just glaring at him on what they have believed to be distasteful jokes. "You guys don't believe me?"

"Of course not." Merlin crosses his arm, his chin turned up in disgust, "And you doing such distasteful things against his memory is reprehensible."

"Yeah! How could you say such things!? Even if it's in the past, it doesn't mean you just get to joke about it." Remulus grabs the two of them by their shirts, throwing them through a door.

Their eyes were wide as he grins. "Good luck!"

"Ow What the hell? That old man just threw me through a door?" Arthur rubs his head as he grumpily stood up, rubbing his eyes as he dusted off his clothes.

"He didn't just threw us through a door." Merlin spoke back as he rubs his back, standing up to a familiar sight. "He threw us back into the past."

Arthur turns to him. "What?" Before he gawks at the sight before him. A large castle filled with battlements and knights. "Where is this!?"

Merlin sighs. "Camelot. The Castle of Camelot."

An arm then grabs them both by the shoulder. "Welcome to the Castle of Camelot!" A smile hidden beneath a hooded figure. "The both of you seem to be good men,"

The man taps Arthur in his chest. "A bunch of young, handsome nobles new to the grand castle!" Arthur shakily smiles at the voice as the man whispers, "How about I let you in on a little secret?"

The young man then opens up his hand, his hand taking off his hood to reveal a young, handsome smile, blue eyes twinkling in delight. "To find success here. You're gonna need this."

Merlin widens his eyes, grabbing it off the man's hand, "Is this what I think it is?"

"Oh? Why, yes, it is whatever you think it is." The man takes it off Merlin's hand. "A very expensive potion, one that would help you greatly in your endeavors."

He shakes it a bit. "Sure, it might have some very very very minor side effects. But I assure you, its quality is top notched! Made by the best-."

A hand then taps his shoulder. His smile freezes as he turns to the group of knights behind him. "Why, gentlemen! What do you, gaaaah! wait gaaaah why good sir, I did nothing!"

A knight then grabs his legs, dragging him back with them, "Stop moving Pendragon! The king is asking for you, you charlatan!"

"Why good sir, whatever do you mean? Didn't the king get what he wanted? Well, maybe he is now blue, but he is the most muscular man in the land, right?"

"Shut up! " The knights then take him away.

"Ouch, wait, this isn't right! I did nothing! This is an act of utter tyranny!"

The group of knights then drags him back to the castle as a hand comes over his mouth. "Remember my name, gentlemen! My name, Arthur Pendragon!"

Merlin just holds unto his head, "Oh god, so this is what he was doing."

Arthur just gapes. "Was that really him?"

The world around them shifts, a shout erupting beside them. "Oh? Hello again gentlemen. Didn't think I'll actually see you here. "

They turn to see the teenager, now a man, bearing a sword in his hand as he hands them, a pouch filled with potions, "Careful with those high-quality potions."

A roar then erupts through the trees as he readies his sword, the trees trembling as a dragon lands. "I'll be needing them for further negotiations."

"Pendragon! Where are the goods!?" the dragon shouts, its resplendent red scales shining through the afternoon sky as it lands, winds ripping across the land, "I was sent here for them!"

Arthur rubs his hand together, "Of course, of course." He walks to the dragon, grabbing the pouch from Merlin as he spoke, "Here it is!"

The dragon reaches for it until Arthur waves his finger, "Uh uh uh. I need something in return. You remember?" He shows his hand, "C'mon, pass it on."

The dragon huffs, "I can smite you where you stand, mortal. Smite the same way I smited villages of your kind." The dragon threatens, fire forming in its mouth.

"But you won't and you never will, cause you're addicted and so are your friends. So cough up what I asked for or we'll stay here all day." Arthur smirks his smile wide as the dragon huffs.

"Here you go, you pathetic mortal. Dragon blood and dragon scales. Use it as you wish." The dragon hands it to him with a glare.

Arthur chirps, "Thanks! Tell your friends I'm always open for business!"

The world around them shifts again, now arriving at a grand hall. One filled with women with ethereal beauty, each one listening intently listening on Arthur's speech.

"You guys better stay behind my back." Arthur whispers as he stood before them. Stepping forward with a wide and charming smile.

"Ladies, I am quite delighted that you decided to hear this young man. Delighted that you wished to partake in my products, despite the clear ban of those unable to understand." Arthur held a hand over his chest, a small smile on his face.

A woman sitting on the throne rests her head on her arm. "Be quick, young man. The presence of your kind displeases me. If you cannot impress me, I shall smite you like the hundreds before you." She threatens him with a smirk.

Arthur smiles at her, "Of course, of course." He then takes out a pouch, one filled to the brim with white dust and powder. "I can give you all a trial."

He slams his hand together as smoke erupts from his pouch, his smile wide as the fairies around him sniff it in the air, their eyes dilating at contact.

Arthur smirks, "So you guys wanna trade?"

The world then shifts, to reveal a huge celebration, the world erupting in shouts as the men and women mingled. Drinks passed all around the two as Arthur sat beside them.

"Hey! It's you two again. Would you look at that? You wanna sit down?" He pats the chair beside him as he spoke, "C'mon, have a drink. It's a celebration for a new tomorrow. Just conquered this new castle of mine."

Merlin looks at Arthur, his expression indiscernible. "Why would you do this? What's the use of all of this? What would your master think?"

Second Arthur then sat beside him, his expression confused. "Why would you do something so dishonorable? I thought knights were good people?"

Arthur scoffs at the thought before drinking in a mega pint, wiping his face as he smiles. "I love my master more than anything. But my people need me more than he'll ever care for."

He gives a wry smile. "Immortals are like that. I just had to do what had to be done to change something, and if it meant doing all of that, well, it's a sin I'm willing to bear. Right Remulus?"

A soft laughter replies behind the three of them, "You always say the cheesiest lines, Arthur. Sometimes I wonder if you're getting worse."

Arthur scoffs as he takes another drink. "I'm nothing but a memory, dumbass. Maybe you should change your perception of me, instead."

"Pfft, you're part of the akashic records. This is how you really are."

Pendragon shakes his head. "I miss broody you." He then flicks the three of them back as the world vanishes into light. The three of them gets spit out through the door.

Remulus snickering as Merlin struggles in his arms, yelling, "What the fuck was that!? You bastard! That can't be my Arthur!"

Arthur just laid down on the floor as Attie pokes his cheeks. "Hey, you okay?"

"Maybe. I'm not sure how to feel about my past life, still processing it." Arthur responded, his eyes churning in thought as he asks the two men, "Is that really how he is?"

Remulus nods. "Yup, he sold Merlin's magical potions to nobles, dragons and fairies, using everything he got to rise through the ranks of nobility. Then, gaining supernatural strength from all the ingredients he got. Drinking dragon blood was pretty gross."

Merlin just slumps on Remulus hands. "No wonder he made me do all those hallucinating potions and concoctions. I was worried about how he was using them all."

Remulus just shrugs, returning to his sofa as he spoke. "Guess there's that topic done."

Asmodeus sticks to his side. "You just going to let them process it?"

"Oh yeah, definitely." He just leans back, "I'm going to have to make this my rest day. And hopefully nothing eventful would happen after this."

A door then opens up as a woman steps in, her grey eyes roaming the room as she spoke. "Remulus, I came here to take away my daughter from-."

Remulus runs up to her, then pushes her face back towards the door. His smile polite as he spoke. "Nope, nope, not today. We'll talk later, Athena."

The door closes behind him. "Ok, back to my rest."

Merlin jolts up. "I still have work to do!"
