"Because only the All-Mighty knew what type of person Talon was. If I had told him that he needed to defeat the Demons and help bring the world to order, things would have been dramatically different, but I think all things happen for a reason," Gaston said.
"Yes, they do, and if this little one puts in the effort, we might even see some actual results," Thania laughed.
"Can you both stop talking to me like I am a child?!" Jessel screamed suddenly, but Thania burst with dark energy, and her hair and eyes turned black as glowing red Runes of Power appeared on her skin.
"You are acting like a child, so you will be talked to and treated like one! Maybe I should take you down to the dungeons for a while, and I can let the Succubus play with you until you start acting like a woman! Remember that we have all been here much longer than you, and by chance, you were able to get your hands on him before I did!" Thania hissed, leaning forward as raw power crackled from the Runes on her skin.
"Calm down, Thania. She didn't know and is sour from her own life. There is no point in fighting amongst ourselves, or we will all be doomed to be replaced," Gaston told Thania, and her aura disappeared, making Gaston turn to Jessel, saying, "Your job is to earn that man's trust back. Even if that means offering yourself to him."
"You can't mean for me to give up my immortality to become human once again! I could be killed! Who will watch over and bless my world?!"
*Gaston shall resume control of the world if you choose to descend.*
"What?! All-Mighty! Why are you fine with this?!" Jessel asked in confusion, but no answer came.
"You are going to have to put your fate in the Nameless God's hands since the world is in this shape is specifically your doing. You were in trouble before Talon entered your world, and you were supposed to take advantage of him. Instead, you decided to act like a child and vent your frustrations on him," Thania explained and then asked, "How is that going, by the way?"
Jessel suddenly felt like she was being backed into a corner by these two, and even the All-Mighty himself! If he even suggested that she descend to the Mortal Realm again, that might be her only option, but there were things to consider.
"If I do this thing, how do I know that he won't just kill me for spite? Or treat me the way that I have treated him? What about Jaydon, my Blessed Hero?" Jessel asked with a feeling of lead in her stomach, still not sure if this was the right choice or why she should even consider it.
"Talon will not kill you, nor will he treat you anything like you did him. The kid is too damn nice, and if you apologize to him and explain yourself, you might even like him. While Talon is in Heaven, we have to give him hell, but you are the one that asked for his help, not the other way around," Gaston explained.
The man called her a witch whenever he spoke Jessel's name and told people to forsake her. The Goddess hardly could believe that she could change that now.
"Jaydon will lose his blessing, and you will gain a Minor Heroes Blessing as you will no longer be a Goddess. If you wish to earn that title back, you will have to work to ascend again, but you will need his help if you want to survive. Your negligence has increased Dessra's danger rating to five stars from the two stars that it was when Gaston presided over this world," Thania said.
Jessel nodded, slowly starting to understand why this was happening.
"I just don't know how I am going to get him to want to have me in his party? Have you heard what he calls me?!" Jessel complained but then jumped as the gateway to Dessra slammed down.
None of the three had called it, as all of them were surprised to see it come crashing down into the perfectly cut grass.
"Looks like you know what the All-Mighty's position is on the matter," Thania laughed, and Jessel scowled at her.
"You planned this, didn't you!" Jessel complained, balling her fist at her side, but there was nothing she could do to Thania, even if she wanted.
"Do watch your tongue. It might be better for you to return for a while and cool your head before you accuse me of such things. I am only taking advantage of your mistakes, nothing more," Thania said, sticking her nose in the air.
Thania was ten times as old as Jessel and as powerful. The longer one was in Heaven, the stronger one became, as did the worlds they presided over.
This was the task of the Gods.
Each of them were tasked to guide worlds and heroes through the ages, slowly increasing the danger level of the world so the people of it could keep growing. The longer a God was a caretaker of a world, the stronger their blessing became, and they were able to use them more frequently.
"If Gaston is watching over the world now, who will receive his blessing?" Jessel asked as she approached the gate, feeling nervous to the point of fear.
"You don't already know?" Thania asked, looking at Gaston with a knowing smile.
"That child will always be my charge, whether he knows it or not. I am very excited to be able to talk to him once again since he is finally doing what I always wanted him to!" Gaston laughed, and Jessel's shoulders slumped.
She had lost her right to be a Goddess the moment she had sent him into the world, and now she understood why. Jessel walked forward into the swirling colors with a heavy heart as her title of Goddess was stripped from her, and she once more descended to the Mortal Realm.
