Sir John Franklin School, Calgary
POV Sarah Williams
"Sarah! We get to sit next to each other again!" Saya was practically jumping exploding in happiness as she found that her seat was right next to mine "That's great Saya. Now let's sit down and wait until we actually have something to do"
"Alright class, since this is the first day we won't be doing much other than getting you settled in" Ms.Rider, spoke while standing at the front of the class "First off I will introduce myself. I am Ms.Rider, your humanities teacher for the year (A/N Humanities is a mix of history and social studies) and I will also help teach your gym classes"
After Ms.Rider finished introducing herself she was silent for a second until she spoke once again. "In order to learn your classmate's names, we're going to play a game." (A/N I spent a good 15 minutes looking for a game that would be good for this scenario but couldn't come up with one)
After the game finished, Ms.Rider took us on a tour of the school. As we exited our homeroom across the hall was another door which Ms.Rider told us was our math classroom. Looking down the hallway I saw the walls lined with blue lockers. It was a locker that was separated into two. After taking in my surroundings I noticed that there were at least 10 classrooms on the second floor.
Soon we started walking down the hall away from the stairs which were to the left of our homeroom. As we made our way down the hall Ms.Rider explained what class each room was. Eventually, we made it to the last classroom on the second floor.
"And finally this room right here is the food's classroom" Ms.Rider explained while gesturing towards the door. "The teacher for this room is Ms.M" Turning towards us she told us the name of the food teacher.
"Hey Sarah" Saya who was standing beside me whispered to me "Did you take food class?" She stared directly at my face while waiting for an answer "Yeah I did. Why?" I replied also whispering. "What if we get in the same food class as well? Wouldn't that be great?" She spoke slightly raising her voice, excited while at the same time nervous.
"It's unlikely but we can always hope can't we?" I started to look away from her and back toward the teacher "Yeah" She replied while slowly looking toward the teacher as well. (A/N I am genuinely divided on whether to put her in the same class or not. I might but that might make it hard for me to integrate other characters considering the unique personality trait I plan to give Saya. Opinion?) We continued the tour of the school and soon enough we had covered the entire school.
*RIIIIING* "Alright all of you should head to your next class which should be, uh, math I believe" Ms.Rider waved us off while heading back to her class, although we headed the same way. Soon enough we all ended up in front of the math classroom and entered.
Instead of name tags this time the teacher, who has not been named yet, directed us to stand at the whiteboard at the front of the class. "Okay, class I am Mr.Ray, your math and science teacher for this year. I will call out your names and direct you to your seat." Mr.Ray gestured to the group and then the desks.
The desks were set up in four rows with a small section at the back of the room behind the teacher's desk that was off to the right from the teacher's perspective. Each row had two desks put next to each other. Off to the left of the room were some windows that showed a small concrete courtyard with a metal shed in a corner of it. One by one, my new classmates were called to their seats including Saya, who, unfortunately, would not be sitting with me. Eventually, my name was called and I was put in the back right corner of the room next to another girl.
The girl had short platinum blond hair that barely reached below her shoulders. She had yellowish golden eyes and seemed to be about 5 foot 1 (155 cm). The girl had a black sleeveless turtleneck, black jacket with fur lining, jeans and a necklace with a silver cross strewn around her neck.
As I sat down at my desk I introduced myself to the girl "My name is Sarah, nice to meet you" after introducing myself, the girl turned and looked at me. "Hello, my name is Alice. Pleased to meet you too"
(Alice Image [If you have some of this character please comment them here])
Decided to attempt to converse with my new deskmate I spoke "You seem to have an accent that's not from around here. Where are you from?" Leaning in as if that would make me hear her better I waited for an answer "Oh, I am from Britain. I moved here with my parents when I was younger so I picked up a bit of an accent apparently" She showed a nostalgic face but that slowly turned into a mix of annoyance and sadness "though a lot of people here seem to mock and make fun of it so it gets kind of demoralizing"
Seeing that the topic was not a very good one I tactfully attempted to change the topic. "Britain ay, I always loved Britain. Oh, did you hear about..." (A/N couldn't find any interesting topics in 2013 that weren't depressing)
I talked with Alice throughout the entire class and soon our next class started which was science meaning we don't have to move. Over the course of math class, we quickly became friends as we noticed we had a lot in common. From likes to dislikes, there were a ton of topics that we both enjoyed talking about. This continued into science class however in another part of the classroom one person kept taking glances at us throughout both classes. Nobody knew what she was thinking. (A/N except for me of course but I don't want to spoil the story for you so you get nothing)
After science class came the final class for the day, gym. (A/N forgot to mention but the first day is a short day)

Authors Note
Another one. Quick reminder, do not expect me to continue updating at a regular schedule like this. I have recently gotten very bored as none of the stories or fanfictions I like to read have been updated lately. Anyways I hope this was a decent chapter as I never proofread these so please let me know how it was.
How did I do?
