The voice of Clara-his ex-wife, informing him about the accident that befell his stepdaughter made Mitchell so surprised. However, not long after, he was able to master the situation after he began to realize that there was no longer any relationship between him and Clara. So, he had no interest whatsoever in this matter.
"Why did you contact me? Doesn't your daughter have a biological father who is far more entitled to come to her? After all, we are no longer in any relationship. Sorry, Clara, I can't help you."
Mitchell immediately hung up the phone and chose to refocus on working on documents for this afternoon's big meeting. He also asked his secretary to banish anyone who intended to meet him and ask for help in any form.
