That day, Father told me everything about himself, mother Lyra, and their organization.
It was intense, but I grasped the gesture.
According to father, the goal of the Council of Assassins is to assassinate the continent's threats and make life better for all the races who live here. The Council of Assassins has been authorized by the three Kingdoms and has established itself in the shadows of all the major cities here on this Continent.
According to what Father said, I believe that every member of the organization is carefully sorted from identity to mission to ensure the safety of its members. Well, it was unlike what I used to know.
My father approached me and asked if I wanted to join the Council of Assassins. But I declined.
Not because I don't want to, but because I want to act on my own will and principles. In my previous life, I had grown being someone's bullet rather than my own personal sword. At least in this world, I will do what I want, and what I wish.
I wonder though, does my siblings know about this?
...
Six months have passed since then. A new year started.
After much training, I am now a Light Red Core mage who can manipulate both wind and lightning mana at the same level. I tried to think of ways to awaken other elements, but I've had no luck so far.
A lot has happened especially in recent days.
Big Bro Ron and Roy have broke through light red stage, and Big Sis Alice broke through Dark orange stage. Not to mention that Big Bro Rock is already a Dark yellow mage who has left the house to explore the outside world.
He had some awful lot of confidence that he would become a great hunter or a heroic adventurer, But I would say he would do his best to become one...at least an A rank adventurer with his skills.
Oh Well.
Father asked me to meet him at the secret underground room at night during my sparring training today. I suppose it has something to do with the council of assassins.
And, well...already it's nighttime, and everyone else is sleeping. Mother sat downstairs watching over them as I slowly walked out and into the secret underground.
As I walked down, I noticed someone in the room with Father, staring at each other silently.
The man was wearing a mask to hide his face, and I couldn't have detected his presence without my father's training all these years. He should be an assassin, and a very strong man at that.
Father was speaking rather respectfully to that man for some reason.
I erased my presence with intense trainings with my breathing, and mana manipulation, as I had trained myself to do, and tried to overheard their conversation.
"Why did you summon me this time, Blue Blood?" The man stated emphatically.
What is Blue Blood? Is that some sort of code?
"Blue Grim, its about my youngest son, Ethan." My father spoke up.
So, that man's code name is Blue Grim, eh? What does my father have to say to him about me?
The Man gave a slight nod "Yes, I get it now. Do you think your cub has that much potential? ".
"I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I've been constantly defeated by him for the last six months!"
"What? Blue Blood, you've been defeated by an eight-year-old? are you being serious right now?"
"Well, I didn't use my full strength, but his techniques and tactics was amazing sir!"
Sighs! I should've known.
Father was embarrassed to hear the man's words, but he was proud to talk about me.
Father exhaled deeply and said, "Blue Grim, I'm not asking as a comrade, but as a student to teacher, Master Grim. You should bring Little Eth with you to Atlas City!"
Huh? Is that man....Father's teacher?
"Sighs! Edwin, even if you are my student, you joined the council at the age of 18, not eight! In comparison to you, your son is still young, and he should not bear the burden of trying to murder anyone or getting red stained hands!"
"But.."
"There are no buts!"
Father was going to tell him about the day I killed the slave traders on my own, but Mr.Blue Grim wasn't ready to hear what his student had to say.
"Master!" My father let out a loud grunt.
"You Dare raise your voice against your teacher, Blue Blood!"
"Master, First and foremost, listen to me. Ethan...he already killed peoples to save a little girl who was being kidnapped by slave traders... , all by himself!"
"HUh? What exactly are you saying? How can an eight-year-old is capable of being that brave?"
Suddenly as they were speaking about me,
"Tck"
When he heard that, the Man frowned.
Just as that happened, my breathing stepped off a scale and as a result of my mana reinforcement in my ears. After all, I'm still a Light Red stage mage. And with this body, I can't help at a situation like this.
Well, I tried to run, but "HUH?" The man sensed me already. No wonder he an assassin who was the teacher for father.
Sensing me, he gave of a smile and replied to father, "Yes, I believe you! But, I have a condition!"
"What is the condition?"
"I might end up killing your son, is that alright for you?" With a smirk, the Man inquired.
"Yes! I'm confident Ethan would outplay you, master!" Father responded.
"Hey now, I'm a Light Yellow core mage. How can I lose to an mere Light Red stage mage? Hahah"
"Master, You do understand that I'm an Solid Yellow Cored mage right? Even I'm saying my adorable little boy can outplay me!"
"Erhm"
Well, apart from dragging me into this, I'm exempted that my father has a lot of faith in me.
