Chapter 6 - Far Away Busted

It seems he is really strong...like crazy strong. I can't stand a chance against him.

"Okay! Okay!" I said as I slowly put down the knife and raised my hands with mana reinforcing my body again. You know, just in case.

"You killed em all?" He asked me.

"Yeh..yeah! I did!"

When I turned back after my response, the man had vanished, and the elf girl had gone missing. I think he took her away. From what I saw, the girl was not afraid of him, so she should be fine.

I'm glad someone was there to take the girl home.

Then, just as I was about to leave after getting off the carriage,

"So you came here by yourself!" The voice was familiar.

Outside, my father was standing.

I should have known better. Busted.

"I'm sorry Father!" I apologized to him.

Father looked around at the dead bodies of the beasts and the slave traders.

Then he let out a sigh and took me home without any words.

He didn't appear to be upset, but the walk was silent and filled with nervousness for me.

Even with my assassination skills, I had a hard time predicting my father's expressions. Perhaps he is wise.

My mother was waiting for us at the door when we arrived, and when she saw me, she smiled and patted my head.

I just slain some people. Why didn't my parents frown? Does this not frighten them?

My mother then patted my back and said, "Eth! Get a good night's sleep. We will talk about what happened in the morning!"

Seriously, now I'm all confused.

...

After what happened, I went to my room later that night and fell asleep.

When I awoke, everything around me appeared to be normal.

It was early in the morning. Mother was already prepared breakfast by that time.

It appears that Alice, Rock, Ron, and Roy were unaware of what occurred the night before.

We ate the breakfasts, and it was quite satisfying, even though I was feeling uneasy about my father and mother's actions.

So I just went along with it.

We all went out to the yard after breakfast for our morning training. You may ask, but our parents were always strict about our trainings.

Father first teaches us about the world, numerical or math, and survival tactics. Following that, we train our bodies with physical exercises, which were known as yoga in my previous life.

We take some time off after lunch, and then we have sparring or combat training with each other, using magic and mana manipulations. Sometimes we meditate and control our mana with the help of my Mother.

Today, it appears that we have combat training. That's what my father said.

So the training continued, and everyone was completely focused on it. We did what we were supposed to do happily.

To be honest, I'm completely into this schedule. If I want to regain my former strength, I need to first understand this world and mana. With this, I can gradually regain the abilities I had in my previous life.

At the same time, I can use the characteristics of this world, as well as the relationship with my own skills and Technique, to strengthen myself. In this world of dominance, only solid strength and potential ideology serve as the foundation for everything.

My parents also taught us in such a way that we could understand everything.

It was time to begin combat training.

Alice, Rock, Ron, and Roy were paired up for training, leaving me alone. Well, I don't mind. I was training by myself. I am comfortable with myself now that my body has been maintained by yoga. Furthermore, I still don't understand why my parents act as if nothing happened after last night.

EDWIN ASHER P.O.V:

I don't have any children, but when I see children who are lonely, I can't help but take them in.

My wife, Lara agrees with me, and we cared for our children even though we are not their biological parents.

We now have a daughter named Alice and four sons named Rock, Ron, Roy, and Ethan.

Everyone was unique in their own way, but Ethan stood out. We've felt connected since Ethan arrived at our house.

Ethan is without a doubt a lovely child. With his black hair and lovely smile, he was the cutest baby we'd ever seen.

And as he grew, his clear black eyes with long eyelashes that wouldn't lose to a girl and a stature slightly taller than others his age, he became the world's most adorable eight-year-old child. Not that I'm showing Ethan a special attention or anything, he is just too cute for his own good.

We couldn't help ourselves; our son was always perfectly obedient and gracious.

Ethan never cried after I took him in and was always happy. He was always well-mannered and cheerful. We were all concerned about his inability to speak clearly.

Haha...

Normally, a child's linguistic ability develops at the age of two, but Ethan is still developing at the age of eight barely passed the mark. He also has a unique baby voice that both us and the children didn't want to correct because it was sweet.

It was mostly overlooked because Ethan had a face that appeared to be carved out of jade. We couldn't help but admire his beautiful skin and adorable dimples.

Despite all of the adorable things we'd seen, he was the most talented and quick learner. He already mastered his Wind mana and perfected his sword styles that I thought him.

Even after all of his daytime training, my wife and I noticed Ethan sneaking out of the house to train himself from the age of six.

He walks deep into the forest and sits at the cliff's edge to meditate.

After that he climbs up the tree and do some different kind of body physical trainings.

We were concerned about him because of his age, but he appeared to be very mature. And with some sneaking behind him, I gradually ignored it because I was relieved he had his own schedule to stay healthy.

Normally, he would return home after three hours of training, but my wife woke me up yesterday, worried that Ethan hadn't returned. My wife was extremely concerned that Ethan was attacked by beasts or something, so I went looking for him.

After finding Ethan, I discovered four corpses devoured by Pantherdogs, one of which was also dead.

They appeared to be slave dealers. I knew Ethan was gifted, but I had no idea he could take on four adults by himself and kill them so quickly.

There was carriage, and I heard Ethan's voce inside. When I got close to the carriage, I noticed an assassin standing at the entrance.

I quickly hid myself from him and reinforced my ear to hear what was going on.

Suddenly, the man went away taking an elf girl from inside. The only thing I could think of was Ethan should've save the girl from the slave traders, and it was the truth.

Ethan apologised when he came out, but I was proud of what he did.

I took him home without saying anything.

He should have been mystified because we didn't frown on him killing someone. But, I had my own fair share of businesses.

So...we just went about our life as normal since the morning, and Ethan is putting up with it. I can't simply tell the others about their younger brother murdering someone. Wouldn't they act awkward or avoid Ethan.
