*One Week Time Skip*
One week after Lycaon had found himself in the ruined world, he had made serious progress in the area he lived around. He had cleared out every street he visited, and even discovered a new type.
He called this new creature the Rat Man, as it was the same size of a human and bipedal, but it was covered in thick fur with a long prehensile tail. They were a bit more difficult to kill than zombies, but they were easier to increase his level by killing as well as providing more experience to his Conjure Sword skill.
However, his previous thought that every zombie would provide 1% of progress to his Conjure Sword skill was incorrect. As it rose higher, he needed multiple monsters to even increase it by a small amount.
As he had gotten rid of every monster in the roads and streets around the area, he chose to go to the city centre as it was a large and open area which Lycaon assumed would mean more monsters to kill, and therefore more experience.
Once he arrived, he noticed that the streets were filled with monsters. He knew that all of the monsters he could see were all of the monsters that there were in an area, as they could not enter buildings or just did not want to.
As his body had gotten stronger from levelling up a lot during the past week, Lycaon sprinted through the crowds of monsters while swinging his sword and cutting down monsters with ease.
After what seemed like an instant, the street was littered with corpses, and Lycaon stood over them all. He kept going down the now empty street, and made it to the very middle of the City Centre.
Once he got here, he climbed on top of the statue in the middle and shouted as loud as he could. He did not say anything in particular, as he was just attempting to get the attention of all the monsters in the area.
As he had expected, hundreds of monsters swarmed from every possible place. Seeing this, a smile appeared on Lycaon's face. He jumped down from the statue and immediately was swarmed by monsters.
However, this did not stress Lycaon out, as with a single swing of his sword, the heads of the enemies in front of him went flying. It continued like this, with Lycaon easily killing everything that came his way.
Nothing was able to stop him, that was until he found the third type of monster so far.
It was around ten feet tall, incredibly wide and if it were a human it would be beyond morbidly obese. It had grey skin that seemed as though it was not actually connected to the monster, and more like loose clothing. Yet somehow, it was moving around normally and managed to stop Lycaon's sword with its hand.
This was not without getting its hand cut off, but it was still much stronger than the zombies and rat men. As the creature had lost one of its hands, it swung its other one at Lycaon in an attempt to defend itself.
In return, the hand was met with Lycaon's sword which sliced through it with a bit of force behind it. Lycaon then connected this slash into another attack, as he sliced upwards and cut the monster's head in half.
After encountering this monster and killing all of the other creatures, he decided to create a name for the new type of monster he had encountered. As the monster was large and overweight, he decided to name the monster 'Big One', in hopes that a much larger creature would appear that he could then name 'Bigger One'.
As Lycaon had killed all of the monsters in the city centre and all of the area around it, something surprising happened.
The ground started to change from the cracked and mould covered concrete into a clean and seemingly well-maintained concrete ground. The buildings in the area also started to return to their previous states and looked exactly how they did in the real world that Lycaon was familiar with.
This was seemingly happening everywhere in the city as, after climbing to the top of a building, Lycaon could see for himself. However, everywhere outside of the city he had 'cleaned' was still in a destroyed state.
As levelling up had improved his senses, Lycaon could see that the border of where had and had not been cleaned was blocking monsters from crossing over. He realised that this would not only be helpful for knowing when he had cleared an area, he would also not have to do the same area multiple times.
This made him happy to see, as it was a sign of his progress even if it was not much in the grand scheme of the situation. As he had finished cleaning his first area, Lycaon started to walk back the way he came to reach the border and then start doing the same process again.
However, when he started walking, he saw something glowing that was coming from the "Big One' that he had killed. Lycaon walked over to the corpse and cut open its stomach which was where the glowing was coming from.
Inside of the stomach, there was a golden ball which was incredibly similar to the purple skill ball he had gotten previously. His suspicions were confirmed when he picked it up, as a screen appeared.
