"Do you think you can get away with this?!" Boban shouted, with his eyes wide open looking like a gazelle cornered by a lion.
"Like you said, you have all the money in the world, which means you have all the money to lose. While I have nothing. I will lose nothing," Caesar said.
"I will destroy your family and every single land connected to it. You will wish you're dead. I will not be able to rest knowing you're alive!" Boban shouted.
Caesar just smiled and didn't speak. The chemical powder bomb in his hand did all the speaking for him. It was an overbearing threat that no words could surpass.
"You do not know who you are dealing with. I am Boban Kravitz, the most cunning businessman of this town. My associates will know what happened to me and will hunt you down," Boban kept shouting, but Caesar didn't change his mind.
"What do you want, money? Fine, I'll give you this 1 million Parou!"
Caesar kept his eyes on Boban.
"2 million! 3 million!" Boban kept shouting off those words with the price of the money increasing to enormous amounts. But Caesar was not tempted.
As Boban kept saying those words, his eyes kept on shooting off towards his guards. It was subtle, and could not be deciphered by normal people who saw it—they wouldn't even know what was happening. But the well-trained guards knew exactly what Boban was saying. It was all part of their gruesome training.
Boban secretly told the guards to surround Caesar and try to get the chemical bomb out of his hands. Yes, everything that Boban said was carefully thought out to distract Caesar from his hands.
The guards immediately started to move carefully towards Caesar. They did it not because of loyalty towards Boban, but because of the fear they had for him. They didn't even consider their own lives.
Boban's plan was for all of his guards to tackle Caesar. With all those bodies piled up on Caesar, even if the bomb explodes, then the bodies of the guards would dampen the explosion and not destroy the money around the walls.
It was a crazy and selfish plan, but in Boban's mind, it was practical. He could always train and pay off other guards with a small amount of money. But it would take him years to try and gather the money that was stored here.
As the guards stealthily walked towards the kid with the bomb, Caesar shook his head.
"Are you sure you guys want to do this? He wants you to die just to protect his precious money. Are you ready to die? For this pig?" Caesar asked the guards without looking back.
For Caesar, he already knew that Boban was only spouting off his mouth to distract him. It was an easy thing to predict the moves of an anxious and selfish bastard like Boban.
The guards stopped in their tracks and hesitated. They might be afraid of Boban, but they were more afraid of dying. If they died now, all the pain they endured would have been for nothing.
"Tsk." Boban's plan was quickly seen by Caesar. He had underestimated the kid. He was much more cunning than any other person he had dealt with. Even more dangerous than those drug dealers he knew—especially since he was only a teenager. He had to deal with Caesar now.
This meant that he only had one other plan left. This plan was risky, probably with only a 50% success. His plan would be to kill Caesar before he could detonate the bomb.
It was simple, but it was hard to pull off. It would come down to Boban's speed in holding his gun and pulling the trigger. He needed to be faster than Caesar's reaction speed.
Also, he needed to kill Caesar instantly, which meant a bullet in the head. If he shot Caesar in the body, he can still detonate the bomb while he was dying. He was acting confident and all, but he had never fired a gun before.
He was not confident in his aim even if Caesar was only a few feet away from him.
But even if he kills Caesar before he can throw the bomb, there were still some problems. Caesar's dead body would drop the chemical bomb to the ground instinctively, and it would go boom.
Thankfully enough, there was a lot of paper scattered around the floor. It could soften the impact when it falls or maybe it won't, that was the bet.
Failure in the plan would result in his death and his whole fortune going up in flames. But despite its risks, Boban was willing to take the bet.
Now, the only thing he should do is secretly get the gun from the desk and aim it at Caesar without him noticing. That was easy enough, right?
At the count of three, he'll execute the plan. With his heart pumping a thousand times per second, Boban counted in his mind. Every sound in the room felt muddled in his brain.
1…2…3…
Boban picked up the gun and aimed it at Caesar's head, and all he had to do was pull the trigger. But during this stressful situation, he saw Caesar smiling while mouthing out some words.
For some reason, he knew that he shouldn't pull the trigger. He scoured his brain to figure out what Caesar said.
"I wouldn't do that. I'm the only one who knows the location of the other bombs."
Those words were like bullets piercing through his glass-like mind producing a shattering sound. There were other bombs? When did he place them? Where are they located?
Wait, how did he know there was other secret money safe in this mansion?
Caesar saw the panic in Boban's eyes and said, "I know what you're thinking. How did I know? Well it's easy to guess with your personality. You would definitely hoard all your money where you could see it. Your narcissism is your downfall."
Boban's eyes darted around as he tried to process Caesar's words. Just when he thought that one bomb was his worst problem, Caesar just casually revealed that there were other more.
It was right then and there that he realized that he had been dancing around Caesar's palm this entire time. Everything was his plan, and he was just following the orders.
For the first time in his life, Boban felt like everything was hopeless.
"But Caesar, you're just bluffing," Caesar said sarcastically. If Boban won't ask, then Caesar would say it himself.
"I'm sure your guards can attest to my actions," Caesar explained. Then, he turned around to one of the guards that escorted him and spoke.
"You saw me touching the vases and the whole room, didn't you? I placed it there."
The guards furrowed their eyebrows as they thought back to that time. They didn't think that a teenager like Caesar was doing anything malicious, so they didn't keep an eye out on him.
"I saw him touching around…but I didn't see everything…," the guard said.
Caesar nodded his head. "That's right. I secretly put more chemical bombs all around your mansion. It doesn't matter where you hid your money, it'll all be destroyed to smithereens."
It was at this point that Boban gave up. His legs finally turned to liquid as he fell on the ground, his whole body shaking. He was defeated, thoroughly defeated. As long as those chemical bombs are not found, his money would be in danger.
Even if he tried to look for every nook and cranny for the bombs, he can't be entirely sure that he got everything. He wouldn't be able to sleep properly knowing that a bomb could set off at any time and destroy his hard-earned money.
"What do you want?" Boban asked with an exasperated voice.
Caesar smiled and said, "don't worry, I'm not a cruel man. I won't take any of your money."
Caesar could take every single coin that Boban had, but Caesar was sure that Boban would do everything to get back the money, even if it meant killing himself and Caesar. Boban's greatest pleasure is his money.
It would be stupid to try and do that now that Caesar was in the upper hand. It was best to only get something that wasn't money, so that Boban would comply and not argue much.
"I want all your ingredients for Joy. Of course, I won't take everything at once—I don't have the proper storage like you do or it will spoil. I'll take batches every week and in exchange, I'll give you one bomb location."
Boban looked up at Caesar and felt relieved. He was willing to give up the ingredients, not the money. He looked at the guards and spoke.
"Get 5 kilograms of ingredients. That's enough for one week, right?"
Caesar thought it over and corrected him. "Make it 10 kilograms. I have a feeling I'll need more."
Boban nodded and let the guard take the ingredients from the storage. After a few minutes, the guard returned with two bags of ingredients and gave it to Caesar.
Caesar inspected it and nodded. Then, he walked to Boban's desk and put the chemical bomb down.
"This is our first transaction. Pleasure to work with you."
Caesar walked out of the room with 10 kilograms worth of ingredients without having to spend any of his 10,000 coins at all. With the job done as expected, he smiled.
