Almost two weeks have passed since my mom told me I needed to get married in order to save our company. Considering this, I decided I was going to tell her about Ethan when I heard her knock on my door and walked in. As she sat on the edge of the bed, I repositioned myself to rest my head on her lap as I leaned on her. It felt so comfortable having her fingers run through my hair.
There was an alpha who came here yesterday to ask for your hand in marriage, Luca. He is from a prom- I didn't let her finish when I told her about Ethan.
Please give me a few weeks to speak to him? His name is Ethan Logan. He is twenty years old, and he runs his father's business. He is also an Alpha. His brother knows me, but I haven't spoken with Ethan before. I'm not sure if he will feel the same way about me. My voice was soft, and she knew it scared me.
The only way you will know how he feels is to speak with him, or would you like me to speak with him on your behalf? From the way she sounded, I could tell it excited her. I'll talk to him, just give me time. I said shyly.
Try to find the courage to speak to him, okay, and if you need a few cheesy lines to use, ask me. With a chuckle, she smiled.
Mom, no thanks, I will speak to him today. I promise I will speak with him. We stayed quiet for a while. I felt a weight lifted off my chest.
I have been stalking Ethan again for five days now. Every time I try to get in contact with him, I get very anxious. I am so scared. What if he ignores me, or he doesn't love me? When I heard a female voice, I was stunned.
Hi, is the seat taken? She asked again.
Oh, no-no, it-its not taken, I stuttered.
My apologies for starting you off. My name is Cindy. She giggled quietly.
It's okay, I'm Luca. As I swung my head away, a smile spread across my face.
"Hey," Cindy suddenly whispered, so I turned my head to her with a questioning expression on my face. "Can I ask you something?"
Yes, I was hesitant for a moment. What is it?
I have seen the way you look at Ethan, so I assume you like him, right? She said, bluntly. Before I could deny it, she continued, already confirming she knows. I don't have a problem with it. I think you will make a cute couple.
"Really?" I asked, my face reddening in a flash.
I can help you become his boyfriend, she said, looking hopeful.
He is not g-gay though, right? I explain and question simultaneously.
You'll never know unless you try it, right? She smirked, raising a brow.
A sigh spread across my face as I realized I wasn't sure if this would be a wise idea. I might end up embarrassing myself.
She announced that phase one would begin tomorrow, making me gawk at her.
You're not serious, are you? I yelled, horrified she'd say yes.
Yes, she said while giggling. I felt myself dying inside.
You don't even have a plan, do you? I asked, raising my voice. Almost everyone at the restaurant looked at me.
I do, but am not planning to reveal it all at once. She teased.
Then how can I trust you, I asked worriedly.
You just have to trust my expertise as a dating expert. She shrugged and tossed her empty cone into the nearby trash.
I sighed, lowering my head.
Alright, do your thing BUT you better not make me regret this. I said, pointing my finger directly at her.
She hopped and squealed a quiet "Yay"
After our wonderful day, I drove home happy. She told me she would explain the first step tomorrow at the same place. I wish there was a way I could get out of this, but it's too late for that now.
The next morning, I brushed my teeth and took a bath before leaving for our meeting point. I realized it was only ten in the morning. It stayed in the car until I saw Cindy and walked to her.
Hey, Cindy called me as soon as she saw me,
Hey, I greeted her back with a smile today, and she seemed happy about it
We ordered lunch and sat at my usual table when I saw Leo and Ethan walk in. My heart fluttered.
Let's sit with them, she dragged my hand
I followed her like a lost puppy.
Hey, Leo greeted as he bit into his food
Hello, I greeted back, giving a small wave and noticeably blushing while looking at Ethan. I guessed because I had not seen him this close before. It's a rare sight.
Wanna hang out later? Leo asked kindly. However, his look dropped when he saw mine. I wanted to hang out with them but... Cindy, this girl would be the death of me. I can't be mad at her, though. She's trying to help.
I'm sorry, I apologise. My heart ached for turning him down. But this would be for the better in the long run, right? I promise we will hang out, eventually? I almost screamed. That sounded terrible.
All he said was that it was fine before returning to his food.
Lunch ended, and it was time to plan for 'Ethan Logan' to be my boyfriend
When they left, she turned to face me, alright let's get to the plan, she blurted.
"Do we have to?". I whined.
Oh, quit it. You don't want to wait for someone to come and snatch him, do you? She asked.
If I ever have a chance, I sigh
Okay, here's my first idea. You could write him an anonymous letter and sprinkle it with compliments and flowers, then place it in his office. She suggested.
How will it help me if it's anonymous? I asked, giving her a strange look.
You don't want him to know right off the bat, but things you'd do next will add to the reveal. When he realises how much effort and attention you put into him, he's bound to feel something, she explained. This wasn't the most disastrous plan ever, but is it the most efficient? I don't know.
Get to writing she yelled, shoving a paper and pen on my chest. I took them and gave her a worried look. She ignored me and pressed her phone.
After writing several heart-wrenching compliments, I was finally done. I breathed a sigh of relief.
You are done? She asked, not drawing her attention from her phone.
"Yeah," I muttered
Ethan will travel to a very critical meeting tomorrow for two weeks. Before then, place the letter and flowers in his office so that he can see them. Hopefully, it will relieve his stress. He is a loyal friend and I want to see him smile again. I'll root for you every step of the way.
After you drop the letter and flowers, you'll go to his house and do the laundry. She instructed. He hates washing. He is always complaining about how time-consuming and inconvenient it is to wash them. So if someone else did, I'm sure he'd be overly grateful.
Could you please assure me that if I visit Ethan's house, he will not find it creepy? I asked nervously if it upset him. I don't know what I'd do, other than panic, like I was on fire.
If it's you, I'm sure he won't mind at all, she assured. I sure hope she's right.
Two weeks, I thought out loud. Seems so close yet so far.
That's plenty of time to carry out our plan. She informed me.
The moment I arrived home, I did not see my mother. I walked to my room, dropped my bag, turned off the light, and opened the curtains to let in some fresh air. Despite the dark moonlight, my shadow was visible to the naked eye. I sprawled on the bed with Ethan's face in my thoughts, bringing a smile to my face.
