Yang Ran flashed an awkward smile. "I'm sorry. I think I might have lost my way. I'm looking for Professor Pan's office."
"Professor Pan?" the man in the white lab coat gave her a lookover. He began to lower his guard upon seeing Yang Ran's sweet and innocent appearance. "Indeed, you are lost. Professor Pan's office is in the other block."
Yang Ran pretended to be shocked. She looked into the lab behind the man and saw the inside of the lab. However, Yang Ran did not get to peek for a long time as the man had already blocked her view.
Her lips curled into a sheepish smile. Yang Ran took a step back and spoke, "It turned out that I got into the wrong block. Then..." Yang Ran pointed in the direction where she had come from. "I guess I should go now."
The man's expression changed slightly.
He watched as Yang Ran walked away until she could no longer be seen. Then, he turned in the opposite direction.
Her head poked out from her hiding place.
