In another room, Yang Ran finally stopped once she realized that she had gotten farther enough from the young commander.
As soon as she was alone, Yang Ran realized that she did not need to run away.
With her new make-up and style, there was no way for Commander Qi to recognize her, right?
Just now, when their eyes met momentarily, Yang Ran had thought that perhaps the man would recognize her. But seeing that the man was not chasing her, she realized that she was thinking too much.
Right now, her eyes were bigger, her lips were fuller and her cheek was more defined. This appearance was definitely not the same as the haggard-looking Yang Ran who had to stay at the hospital after surviving a gunshot.
Straightening her back, Yang Ran once again gained her confidence.
She turned around and headed back into the cruise restaurant.
There were many people having dinner in this place tonight.
It was their first night on the cruise and everyone seemed a little excited to try everything and mingled around.
This time, Yang Ran had come out, wanting to get some information.
Commander Qi would not be on this cruise without no reason. She should also try to find out the reason why he was on the cruise, right?
Fluffing her hair, Yang Ran went back into the restaurant.
She had spent a lot of money to be able to receive the VVIP treatment on this cruise. Moving around those high-class people should not be that difficult for her.
Her eyes swept across the hall and stopped at the two teenage boys who she had seen with that commander earlier. The teenagers were still around, but Commander Qi was nowhere to be seen.
As she was trying to locate the commander, Yang Ran noticed that there were a few guards around the teenage boys.
Her brow rose. Yang Ran turned to look at the boys again, figuring that their identity should not be that simple.
But the question is... Why was Commander Qi with them?
Yang Ran did not get much time to ponder about it as the people she was waiting for had appeared within her eyesight.
Looking at the way they dressed and their manners, she was very sure that they should be able to give her the information she wanted.
Casually, Yang Ran shifted her direction to approach the group of people and headed to the bar area. Yang Ran ordered her drinks before she kept her ears perked up to listen to their conversation.
Almost half an hour later, Yang Ran finally got valuable information.
It seemed that the President was on this cruise to attend his friend's birthday party. Moreover, the teenagers that she had seen a while ago were the president's son.
Tomorrow night, the president's friends were going to hold a celebration. However, only those who were invited would be able to attend.
Tapping her fingers against her glass, Yang Ran decided to find a way to get into the party.
Since she was on this cruise, it would be better if she join the fun as well, right?
Her gaze fell on the waitress who was busy tidying up the dirty plates.
She could find a way to join the staff... but it wasn't really her style.
Then, she swept her gaze around the room to look for someone that might be able to help. Finally, her eyes stopped at the middle-aged man who was drinking alone at the corner. Her eyes raked over the man's body and her lips brow rose, knowing that this person might be the ticket for her to join the party.
Coincidentally, the middle-aged man raised his head and meet her gaze. Yang Ran flashed a smile at him before looking away, pretending to be minding her own business.
The smile on her face widened as the sound of footsteps approached her.
"Hello, Miss."
Hearing the voice, Yang Ran turned around with an inquiring look on her face.
The man smiled mischievously as he gave her a look over. "How about I buy you a drink?"
...
The moment Yang Ran returned to her room, the first thing she did was switch on her laptop. She clicked on the special application that Eric had given her before using the browser to search for some information that she might need.
Around ten minutes later, her phone rang. Yang Ran glanced at the screen before picking up the phone. "Eric."
"How was your first day on the cruise? Did you do anything interesting?"
Yang Ran chuckled as she heard his questions. "Other than sightseeing and pampering myself, what kind of interesting thing do you think that I can do?"
"Then, I'm glad that you were enjoying yourself," Eric said. "But, what are you doing on the computer? Aren't you supposed to be enjoying the sea breeze at night?"
Yang Ran was not mad even after she knew that Eric had monitored her.
The corner of her lips turned up. "I found out that there were a few interesting people boarded on the ship."
"Oh?" Eric pushed up the glasses on the bridge of his nose.
"They say that the president of this country was on board," Yang Ran spoke, not willing to tell him the truth. She leaned on her chair and continued, "His friend invited him on this cruise for a party. I'm trying to find out the identity of this friend. Considering that the president was willing to leave his job for a week to join this party, I say that this friend's identity shouldn't be that simple."
"Do you want me to help you investigate?"
"Eric, you already investigated the guests' list before I boarded this cruise," Yang Ran said. "President Liang's name was not on your list. I think that his friend's name should not appear in your investigation as well. If you wanted to investigate deeper, it would take you a while to find out. Since I am on this cruise, it would be quicker for me to find out about it."
"You have too much time." Eric did not understand why would Yang Ran suddenly be interested in President Liang.
Yang Ran clicked her tongue. "The entertainment on this cruise isn't that exciting."
Eric laughed when he heard her words.
"Then, how are you going to look into this matter?"
Her eyes lit up. "Of course, I already figured out a way to get an invitation to this party."
