Yang Ran chuckled upon hearing her name from his mouth.
She took out a few wet tissues from her pocket and started to wipe the heavy makeup off her face. Without the shading from the makeup, her real face was shown to Morelli.
"You guessed right." Yang Ran smiled.
The temperature in the room dropped. Morelli subconsciously scooted backward as the incident from a few months ago came to his mind.
Morelli knew the reason why Yang Ran was looking for him and this was making him scared. He had never thought that with the security around him, Yang Ran would be able to approach him this close.
He should have known that this woman was good at disguising herself.
This was the only way she could sneak into his territory and appear in front of him.
A few months ago, someone had come to him with an offer he could not reject. The person had assured him that as long as he was willing to help, Yang Ran and her organization would be buried.
That person had assured him that he would never have to worry about Yang Ran as the woman would not be around when he made his move.
The plan sounded foolproof.
He was tempted to get the benefit and had agreed to lend his hand to help that person.
Morelli had thought that Yang Ran would die in another country, but who would have thought that she would survive the assassination and return to F Country? Now, this woman was standing in front of him, looking for revenge!
His hand on his gun tightened. He put his finger on the trigger, but before he could shoot, Yang Ran had already kicked the gun away with her long legs.
The gun slid on the floor and finally stopped at the corner of the room.
Realizing that he was in a difficult situation, Morelli moved quickly to retract his gun. However, his fat body was not as agile as Yang Ran's.
Just as he was about to touch the gun, Yang Ran had already stepped on his hand with her high heels.
"Ugh!" Morelli gritted his teeth as he bore the pain.
Knowing that he had no way to get his gun now, Morelli turned to the door and shouted, "Guards!"
In fact, Morelli's guards have been trying to break into the room the moment Yang Ran locked the door. However, it was he who had designed the door to be thick and hard to break. No matter how much the guard tried to kick the door, it just won't budge.
At this time, the group of guards could only call for someone to get the spare keys to enter the room and get to their boss's side.
Yang Ran put on a little bit of pressure on her legs, causing Morelli to howl in pain. She bent down to pick up the gun. She raised the weapon to her eye level to admire it. Then, she pointed to the fat man and smiled.
The gun clicked.
A cold wind went by past him and soon, Morelli could feel a warm sensation between his legs.
A breath of relief escaped him, knowing that the bullet went past beside him and that he was unharmed.
The thought that he had almost died made him angry. "Rachel, are you crazy?"
"That's right, I am crazy. Morelli, you should have expected this to happen when you scheme against me." The smile on her face quickly disappeared and her eyes darkened with fury. "You killed my family. You killed everyone." Yang Ran pointed the gun at him again. "What do you think they felt when you sent your people to kill them?"
Seeing that the woman was pointing the gun again at him made him scared.
Morelli was aware that the first shot was only a warning. The next time she pulled the trigger again, the bullet would definitely hurt him.
"It wasn't me." His voice shook. "It wasn't my plan to hurt you or your group."
Her eyes narrowed. Yang Ran walked over to him and stepped on his bulging belly. He leaned over as she continued to point the gun at him. "Of course, I know that. Morelli, I always know that you are a coward. You wouldn't dare to do anything like that unless you had some backing. Now, tell me, who was it?"
His throat bobbed.
Morelli wanted to speak, but as he thought of that man again, the words he wanted to speak were stuck in his throat.
If that person knew that he had talked, he would surely die.
Another loud gunshot reverberated in the room, surprising him.
It took him a while to realize that Yang Ran had shot him in his arms.
The pain came suddenly and he began to growl in pain. He wanted to roll around in pain. However, Yang Ran was stepping on his stomach, preventing him from moving around.
"If you don't speak now, I swear to God that the next one, I won't miss again," Yang Ran spoke.
"I'll say it! I'll say it!" Morelli began to panic. If he did not say anything, he would die anyway. It was better to speak now and hide from that man. "It's that man. A Chinese. He came to see me earlier this year and gave me an offer I can't decline. He said that as long as I helped him, I would be able to control the city."
"Who is that person?"
"I don't know his name."
Yang Ran lifted his gun again.
Morelli's eyes widened. "I only heard the others call him Mr. Huang. He's not from here."
"Why did he want to kill me and everyone else?"
"I don't know." Morelli raised his hand before Yang Ran could shoot him again. "But I overheard that he was looking for a map that your late father left for you."
A map?
This was the second time that she heard someone speak about the map. However, Yang Ran had no idea what kind of map her father had left for her.
After she had returned to F Country, Yang Ran tried to find this map, but she could not find anything. She could not remember if her father had left anything like it.
Moreover... Who was this Mr. Huang?
"I overheard something else," Morelli spoke. "Mr. Huang seemed to be a friend of your father."
Her eyes flickered. A friend of her father?
A face appeared on her mind and her heartbeat accelerated.
There was only one Mr. Huang that she know. That man was a good friend of her late father. When she was younger, this Mr. Huang often visited her father and bring her a lot of gifts.
But, it couldn't be that person, right?
