Chereads / Within The Full-Dive Game / Chapter 7 - Special Mission 2

Chapter 7 - Special Mission 2

Around the time that Ranz was still plunging down, on the same region, two figures were flying above the trees, riding their flying mount known as Bettlefly. It was an insect monster with a body as big as an adult pig.

It had a pair of two transparent wings and could carry a person on its back. The reason why many players tamed them was for this purpose.

One of the two people burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

Then he looked to his left, to the person who was riding on a similar flying mount to his.

"Hey, Dawn, I liked the expression on those fools' faces when they heard who we are!" One of the men who were riding the Bettlefly mentioned it to the other person.

There was a victory grin on his face and a satisfied expression.

The man had a flat-top hairstyle and the color of his hair was gray. He was wearing light dark-blue color armor.

The other person, who he called Dawn, showed a disgusted expression. "Heh~ those chickens are boring. They don't even dare to fight back. Pwe! I hate those kinds of pussy cowards. They should have left the game already. This place doesn't need cowards like them."

The other man spat in a cold voice.

Contrary to the former, the latter had a dissatisfied expression on his face. He was wearing a hood so it was hard to describe his face, but beneath the hood, there was a pair of cold purple eyes peering from it.

These two people were the duo Dawn Silver and Lonewolf. The two were both Level 30 players of the game.

"Anyway, Lone, 'you sure we will see those guys in that village?"

Dawn Silver's voice was cold and rough, contrary to Lonewolf who had a loud, cheerful voice.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we agreed to meet at the Lightwood Vill—!"

Lonewolf's words were cut short caused by a sudden scream.

Kyaw!

The two looked to their side at the same time. They saw two shadows fast approaching in their direction.

"Hehe! Looks like we have guests!" Lonewolf said in an excited tone, showing a toothy grin.

"Fierce Vultures," Dawn Silver mentioned.

"Meh~" Lonewolf showed contempt. "These vultures gave us a lot of headaches before. But now…" he stopped speaking as he picked up the two weapons hanging behind his back.

Now he held a one-handed ax in each hand.

"Let me take care of them," Lonewolf declared.

"It's up to you," Dawn Silver replied to him.

A corner of Lonewolf's mouth stretched upward. These two Level 25 Fierce Vultures, he can definitely kill them at once with his Boomerang Strike.

The two Fierce Vultures were getting closer and closer to them. Lonewolf's weapons were also ready.

When he saw that the two monsters were at enough range, he immediately aimed his weapons to attack. However, Dawn Silver suddenly stopped him.

"Wait! Wait a minute, Lone! "

"What—?"

Due to Dawn Silver stopping him, he was unable to use Boomerang Strike. Instead, the two dodge so as not to collide with the two Fierce Vultures.

"Why Dawn?" Lonewolf asked, a little annoyed.

"Look!"

Lonewolf saw that Dawn Silver was pointing in front of them. When Lonewolf turned in the direction he had pointed, he saw the canopy of the village. They seem to be close to arriving, but not that close that you could reach in a minute or two.

"We're almost there, huh," Lonewolf said reluctantly. In his mind, 'was this the only reason Dawn stopped me? Pathetic.'

But, that didn't seem to be the only thing Dawn Silver meant.

"Idiot, look above!" Dawn Silver commanded him.

Lonewolf raised an eyebrow. But, he still followed what his companion said.

When Lonewolf turned up, he saw something that looked like a dot in the sky. It slowly descended onto the ground.

"Winged-Bubble?" He immediately knew what it was because they also experienced riding it.

"Yes," Dawn Silver replied to him as a strange smile formed on his lips.

"Eh? What's the big deal of seeing a Winged-Bubble? That just means that a new player joined the server," Lonewolf just stating a fact.

"Heh! Don't you understand?"

Lonewolf's face wrinkled because he really had no idea what Dawn wanted to say.

Dawn Silver continued speaking. "Instead of killing those boring Fierce Vultures, maybe it's more fun playing with that newbie."

"Eh? Useless!" Lonewolf exclaimed. "Maybe you forgot that we can't attack newbie players because of their Peace status."

Annoyed Lonewolf said to Dawn Silver.

Presently, while talking they were also evading attacks coming from behind them. Fierce Vultures were chasing after them, shooting Wind Vortexes attacks.

Suddenly the smirk on Dawn Silver's face grew.

"Jackass! What do you think of me— stupid? Of course, I know that, motherfucker. We can't do anything, yes, but those behind us… what do you think? "

Lonewolf's eyes widened slightly when he realized what Dawn Silver meant.

For Dawn Silver, rather than them killing boring vultures, it's even more fun to kill a player, especially a beginner player.

"I see. So that's your plan… "

"What else?"

Hehe!

Silver Dawn grinned inwardly. He was excited at what this newbie's reaction would be. This person would definitely cry whoever he was in real life.

They immediately flew high.

Looking at the Winged-Bubble, it looks like the person on board wanted to land in the town they passed earlier.

Meanwhile,

Ranz tried to control the Winged-Bubble. Fortunately, it could be controlled by balancing the body. It was called the Winged-Bubble because it was a large bubble with a pair of unique wings. The wings didn't help the bubble to fly. It just slows down his descent.

He was already 2050 feet above the ground. And below him could be seen a village. But this village was not his goal. He wanted to land at Everpass Town located a few miles north of Lightwood Village.

As the Winged-Bubble descended, across Lightwood Village, Ranz suddenly felt a sudden shaking.

"UGGH?!"

"WHAT THE!"

He screamed in shock!

He looked around to find out what had happened.

"Eh? What's that? Monster?"

To the north, Ranz saw silhouettes quickly approaching in his direction.

But, aside from those silhouettes, there was something else coming in his direction at a faster pace.

'Wait! Are those Wind Vortexes!?' he exclaimed to himself. He would have liked to marvel at this magical power, but he couldn't because those vortexes were fast heading in his direction.

He felt inexplicable tension from it.

In the next second, the vortexes hit his Winged-Bubble. The Winged-Bubble received impacts with Ranz on board.

Four flying monsters were fast heading in his direction.

"Dammit! Did they attack me?" Ranz asked, full of confusion at what was currently going on.

There was even worse news. He noticed that there was a crack on one part of the Winged-Bubble.

He didn't know that monsters could attack the Winged-Bubble. At the corner of his eyes, he caught a glimpse at the quest panel.

He suddenly thought.

'I see. So that's how it is. Maybe it's impossible for them to give a Special Quest or mission or whatsoever if it can be completed easily, so maybe this is part of the quest to make the difficulty a bit harder. It may be a test.'

At this point, Ranz believed it was a test. He needed to get through it. He needed to land on the ground to complete this special quest. He would definitely get a good reward if he completed it.

Ranz couldn't help but be impressed with this game. He had played many survival games before where you also needed to skydive at the beginning of the game. But of all the games with this system, only in this game made this scene more thrilling. He was even more amazed now.

Putting that aside, he still could not change the fact that he was in great danger right now.

'If this goes on, the Winged-Bubble will break sooner or later.'

Because the Winged-Bubble was descending slowly, there was nothing he could do to evade the attacks. The Winged-Bubble continues receiving hits and the crack increases.

His descent to the ground only accelerated everytime he received a hit. However, it also means that at this point, instead of heading north, he was pushed back to Lightwood Village.

Anyway, there was a more troublesome problem than that.

'At this altitude, I'll be dead if the Winged-Bubble gets destroyed.'

Despite his difficult situation, Ranz was still able to remain calm and think carefully.
