He was about to approach the drop items, but, "Uhh?" Ranz widened his eyes. Suddenly, he felt pain as if he had been beaten by a group of gangsters.
Ranz staggered and fell again. His eyesight had become blurry as well, as if he was drunk. His body weakened. And with the extreme weakness of his body, he found it difficult to move it.
"This can't be…" Ranz mumbled.
He hastily checked his inventory to see if there was any item there that could help him. However, he found nothing helpful. Only the greatsword was in there.
Using his arms, he tried pushing up his body, but Ranz found himself unable to stand. His whole body had lost strength.
Ranz still forced himself to crawl towards the drop items. He moved like a giant worm. Everytime he moved, he groaned as well. The pain was so realistic which made him want to believe it was real. If only not because of the videos he watched beforehand, he would certainly believe it was real and not just a game.
In his mind, he thought, 'What the game streamers said is true! That if you get hurt in this game, you will feel real pain, at least 50 percent of the real world!'
Besides that, his vision was red and dark as if he had been knocked down in an FPS game. This was a difficult situation, but he had to cope and collect the drop items.
Each of these drop items had the equivalent value of real money that he could sell at the auction house. Or sell them directly to the shops here in the game for in-game cash. Then later convert them into real money when he logged out of the game.
Although he was still able to think, everything in his senses was affected by his injury. Some texts even appeared in his vision.
[You are inflicted by poison.]
[You are inflicted by a bleeding status.]
[Your hearing has been lowered by 70%.]
[Your eyesight has been lowered by 80%.]
[Your movement is reduced by 90%.]
etcetera…
He gulped subconsciously.
'Status Ailments?' Ranz thought. Anyway, he noticed some unusual ailments among them. But it wasn't the right time to think about it.
After a minute of arduous crawling, he was able to reach the flashing items on the ground. But he no longer had the strength to pick them up. His arms were heavy. And he could not bear the pain anymore. He couldn't even squirm.
While his body was aching, he also couldn't move. So it seemed like double torture to him.
"Damn it, one predicament after another."
In the corner of his mind, he marveled at the realism of this game. However, likewise, he also curses the game because of how realistic the pain was. He didn't think the game wasn't far from the real world.
Ranz noticed some numbers in his vision. It was inside a circle. The number keeps decreasing every second.
He knew what it was. It was his consciousness. He knew it because it was just like in any other game he played.
Once the number reached zero, he would certainly die.
Looks like the only reason he was still alive was because of the few points that were left in his health bar. But once that consciousness reached zero percent, he would certainly die.
How unfortunate! Although he was able to land nicely, the injury he suffered was too great.
At that moment, when the numbers were already approaching one digit, someone came.
"Heal!"
In an instant, Ranz's condition immediately became better like what happened just now was just a dream.
"Eh?" Ranz looked surprised while staring at a pair of feet with wide eyes.
"What the…" he mumbled. He suddenly felt better.
"Hey, are you okay?"
He heard someone asked.
He looked up to see the owner of the voice and saw an angelic face with a pair of long ears. She was wearing a white-colored robe with gold laces at some parts. Her long lavender hair passed to her shoulders. On her head, she was wearing an unusual hat that looked like the head of a bird. The color of her hat was the same as her robe.
In her hands, she was holding a nice-looking staff. A nice weapon for Intelligence-based characters.
She looked like a character from a fantasy genre.
"Y-yes, I think I am… fine?" He said, sounding like he was asking.
The girl looked at him and sighed.
She said, "I see. That's good."
While slightly bending her knees, her almond crystalline eyes stared at him as if examining him.
"Can you stand?" She asked him, while looking at him with pity.
Ranz was slightly embarrassed. However he nodded, "Yes, I think I can," then he slowly pulled up his body.
"Are you the one who healed me?" He asked.
"Yes, it's me..." as she answered that she adjusted herself. She was no longer looking at him. She already turned her gaze to the lying drop items nearby.
He was about to thank her, but interrupted by her. She continued saying, "Oh, by the way..." she glanced at him. "Don't thank me. That's not trendy here. I'll just take these drop items because you seem to have no money to pay me."
"Eh!?" Ranz gawked at what she said.
Hearing his slight exclamation, she turned to him again with one eyebrow slightly raised. "Why? Do you have a complaint? Do you have money to pay me? If it wasn't for me, your account might have been terminated now," she said.
'Where was that angelic aura just now?' He wanted to complain.
However, he could not find a word to rebut her because he knew she was right. Instead, he just rid off of the dust and hays that seemingly sticking on his body.
"All right, take it," he said in a low voice, giving up his rights on those items. Although it was regrettable that he could not gain money from those drops, there was nothing he could do about it. His account was more important to him than those drop items.
After hearing his approval, she picked them up one by one. Then, shortly after picking them up, the items disappeared from her hands. She stored them in her inventory.
Ranz was just staring at her while she took all the drops without sparing a single one.
After picking up all the items, "Lala!" Someone shouted.
