La Rue spent another week practicing walking in her human form, getting better at it the she tried. Now that she was able to shift, Thyrious had her human during the day and wolf by night. He explained that her fur was the only reason she hadn't frozen before he found her and that nights were colder. Even though he kept the fire going, he didn't want to risk anything.
Now, they were preparing to head home, and La Rue was anxious. It wasn't just about what would happen when they returned, but more about her injuries. She knew she would slow them down considerably. She knew Thyrious was patient, but how long could that last?
As she folded his clothes and put them in the bag, she wondered if she was ready to return home, to Thyrious's pack. She wondered what would happen along the way. She wanted to know if Hans had stopped trying to kill her or if she'd have to deal with him. She didn't want to deal with him. she wanted nothing to do with him. Ever.
