When Kaizen said he wanted to talk in private Zyra wasn't ready for all he had to say but his apology over his recent actions, especially where Cyril was concerned and also his not being able to save her from getting kidnapped by the ratbeasts still weighed heavily on his soul.
Sure things had managed to work out in Zyra's favor especially with Leon being essentially the King of the ratbeasts. Yet, what if there was no Leon, things could have taken a turn for the worse and Zyra could have died because he wasn't strong enough. No matter how Zyra said she forgave him it still seemed to be eating away at his conscience.
