Zyra's heart raced as the door shut behind them and then they heard that clawing sound again, like whatever it was could not open the door.
She didn't know whether to be relieved or worried.
The clawing had become more erratic sounding like it was desperate to get at them.
"Ignore it," Kaizen said. "Remember you're safe as long you are with me."
"I can't. I'm not imagining it, there is something out there, stalking us."
"Do you hear yourself?" he questioned. "This isn't you, you are normally the thinker, the rational one when under pressure, don't go to pieces now when everyone is depending on you. I understand you had to be independent in the past but I'm her now Zyra. I promise I won't leave alone again, just count on me."
He could say that to reassure her a million times but he could not erase her fear of the unknown and make her any less afraid.
