When Leon got up to leave, Zyra trailed behind him but he new he was being followed and stopped in his tracks.
He said frustratingly, "Zyra, I know you're there."
She came out from behind a tree, Leon must have heard when she accidentally stepped on a twig.
"I'm coming with you whether you like it or not," she said firmly.
"No you're not Zyra, please return to base like a good little girl."
Some of his men chuckled.
"I don't understand what is the difference between this raid and the last I went on."
"Some of the men felt that the battlefield is no place for women and children, even though I don't doubt your skills as a fighter, we think there is no nobler cause for you but to stay and defend the base."
"But.."Zyra was about to argue when Leon pulled her aside and whispered in her ears softly that only she could hear.
Her eyes widened but she nodded her acceptance of the inevitable.
