"I am Kilo," the angel answers.
"Kilo?" Castyr's brows pinch together as he tries to think where he has heard the name before. "Kilo who?" He gives up.
"I am the angel assigned to you."
"But I've never seen you before."
"I guard your residence. I seldom entered."
"Ah."
Kilo loosens his hold and sits up in the bed when he realizes just how closely he has been holding the star. Castyr sits up as well and leans against the wall.
"Thank you...for...saving me," Castyr says sheepishly. "I shouldn't have followed the man."
Kilo ruffles Castyr's hair in an effort to reassure the innocent star. "You didn't know he was a smuggler."
Castyr hangs his head.
"From now on, follow me." The angel's words seem to make the star happy as Castyr looks up at Kilo and smiles.
The star nods in a agreement. "From now on, don't watch me from a distance. Stay next to me," Castyr tells Kilo in return.
"Deal," Kilo looks down at the small star fondly.
The star's happy-go-lucky smile fades as he notices the bloodstained bandage. "You're hurt!" Castyr gasps as he touches the covering on Kilo's side.
"Oh?" Castyr exclaims in cute confusion as he reaches out and touches the healed skin. "But there's blood on the bandage."
"It's because of you."
"Huh?" The star turns to fully face Kilo.
"You healed me in your sleep. It's because I absorbed your light all night long."
"I did this?" Castyr points at Kilo's abdomen.
Kilo nods. "Do you not know of your abilities?"
Castyr shakes his head.
"They didn't tell you?"
"They said I was too young." Castyr looks down.
"Well you need to know now."
Castyr looks up at the angel with curious eyes, waiting to learn something new.
"Stars' light is healing and energizing. The more light a person absorbs, the stronger they become. You can also become a glow stick in dark places."
Castyr slowly absorbs the information.
"Your glow will change with your mood and health. You will have to learn how to control it to avoid attention," Kilo adds.
"Ah," Castor nods. "How do I do that?"
"Control your temper and breathing and consciously dampen the glow."
"How do I do that?"
"With your mind. Just try it."
"Okayy." The young star shuts his eyes and takes long, deep breaths.
Kilo holds his breath as he watches the glow pulse. The pulses slowly become smaller and dimmer until the glow is gone.
Castyr opens one eye and looks around. "Did it work?"
"Mmm hmm," Kilo nods. "You did it."
"Whew! That was harder than I thought it'd be!" The small star smiles in accomplishment.
Kilo smiles at his cuteness and ruffles Castyr's hair before getting out of bed.
"Come on," Kilo says as he gets the star out of the bed.
"Where're we going?" Castyr asks as Kilo zips his jacket around the star.
"To find out where we fell. I am not familiar with this planet, and I lost my coms with Heaven." Kilo checks the knife hidden in his boot and the gun strapped to his thigh. He then reaches into his pant pocket and retrieves a small pouch. He checks how many lorne he has before returning the pouch to his pocket.
"Let's go," Kilo opens the door. Castyr follows the angel out of the room and down the stairs into the common room. Travelers from across the galaxy sit and whisper around the giant fire as waitresses deliver drink and food to their hungry guests.
Kilo and Castyr sit at an empty table and observe their surroundings as a waitress approaches them.
"How can I help you sirs?" She asks sweetly.
"Two meals," Kilo answers.
The waitress observes the dashing angel before replying, "Anything else? We offer a variety of services." The waitress places her hand on her hip as she steps closer and bends down.
Kilo leans away and closes his eyes half-way in judgment. "No," he answers with a disgusted expression.
Castyr innocently watches Kilo and the waitress's exchange.
"Okay, then, two meals coming up," the waitress turns and walks to the back of the inn after giving Kilo one last look up and down.
Castyr watches as the waitress leaves before leaning close to Kilo and whispering, "How do we find out where we are without grabbing attention?"
"Listen."
"You can hear what they're saying?" Castyr's eyes widen.
Kilo nods and closes his eyes.
"Angles have advanced hearing? Woah."
Kilo focuses on two men's conversion. One man begins, "That waitress over there looks-".
He moves on to a group of girls. "Jon proposed!"
A young voice catches his ear. "When can we leave Megran? I wanna go home," a boy pouts to his father.
"After we sell the rest of the goods," the father answers.
Kilo opens his eyes to see a curious Castyr observing him closely, his face but a few inches from the angel. Kilo sighs and presses his finger against Castyr's head to move him away.
"Find anything?"
"We're on Megran."
"Megran?"
"It's a rank 20 planet 6 planets away from Earth," Kilo describes.
"Why do we need to get to Earth?"
"Earth has one of the only ways to enter Heaven that is not by the wings of angels. Ambassadors and visitors mostly use it."
"Why can't you fly us to Heaven?"
"My wings haven't come in yet. I'm still young."
"Ah. So you can't heal yet?"
Kilo nods.
"And no teleportation, either?"
Kilo shakes his head.
"Okay. So, let's get to Earth."
"That's the plan."
"How do we get to Earth?" Castyr asks with wide eyes.
Kilo cannot help but chuckle at the star's overflowing cuteness. "We have to catch a flight to Megran's neighboring planet, Borum, from the space station."
"Where's the-"
"Shh." Kilo covers Castyr's mouth with his hand and closes his eyes. He listens carefully to the girls' conversation.
"Did you hear a star went missing?" A girl begins.
"Really?! Aren't they super valuable?"
"Uh huh. They're the defense system of Heaven. Every bounty hunter and trader is looking for the star. Apparently his angel went missing too."
"Think how much money we'd get if we caught both an angel and a star!"
"But I heard his angel is really strong, so be careful."
"We need to get out of here," Kilo mutters in a low voice as he opens his eyes. He quickly grabs Castyr's wrist and pulls the star from his seat.
