Chapter 14 - Memories of the past #2

The days passed without any other similar incident. But that doesn't mean that there won't be one.

Two weeks later, after Aeryn had started to forget about that strange dream of hers she came face to face with something worse. Now she had some kind of visions while being awake.

One moment she was standing in front of her parents and the other she was standing in front of their house which was on fire and could hear her parents screamings from inside.

But those visions wouldn't last for long because as soon as she made a move she was back with her parents.

As time was passing by she was seeing even more visions. Each one different from the other.

Aeryn knew that something was wrong as those visions were reminding her of something but she wasn't sure what it was.

Aeryn was seeing visions more often each day.

She was thinking that this is something that someone would call a bad dream so she wasn't giving much attention. But her parents were worried about her because from time to time she was waking in her bed screaming in the middle of the night.

Those visions were depicting her in situations that she never had thought of doing. But that's why she called that a dream.

Each vision was showing to her how her true life was. It was like something was trying to make her remember who she truly was.

But Aeryn, overwhelmed by the happiness she had with her parents, refused to believe in that reality.

Until one day while having a dream she found herself in the middle of a street in the city she was dreaming about half of the times.

But now something was different. The city was destroyed. Demolished buildings, fire everywhere, dead bodies all over the place and most of all, nothing alive.

Because she knew that if she moved she would wake up, she took a step forward but nothing happened. She was still inside that dream.

Upon seeing in front of her a pile of bodies she moved closer because she thought that she saw someone familiar.

When she got closer she saw a boy around her age being pierced by some kind of flag which was blowing from the wind.

As she touched the boy's face suddenly she started seeing scenes of her and this boy spending time together, fighting together and even making love together.

Once all these scenes passed through her mind she fell down panting.

"Do you like the future?" She heard a voice from behind her saying.

Aeryn turned around and saw a woman with black hair and red eyes who was wearing a black dress walking towards her.

"W-who are you?" Aeryn muttered.

"Me? I'm the one who sent you to this fake world."

"Fake world? You mean this dream?"

"This dream and your parents are all made by me."

"What? How could this be possible? I don't believe you."

"You really think that I care if you believe me or not? I'm just here to warn you that if you don't wake up soon your friends will end up like that." She said, showing the pile of bodies.

"My friends? What are you talking about? I don't know these people."

And as soon as Aeryn said that a new bunch of flashbacks passed through her mind.

"Whatever you're trying to show me I don't get it. I don't remember any of those people. Not any Yashito, nor any Alpha."

"Hmm, you have lived here for a long time and have forgot who you really are. Let me fix this." The woman said and with a snap of her fingers they both teleported in front of Aeryn's house.

"What are we doing here? This is my house." Aeryn exclaimed.

"You really think that this is your house? Look around you and tell me what do you see."

Aeryn turned her head to look at the mountains that were on her left side.

"Yeah, I see mountains, so what?"

"Just how stupid can you be? Look more carefully."

"I already told you that there isn't something wrong here." Aeryn said but still did what the woman said.

And as soon as she did it she froze from what she saw.

Those mountains weren't real, more likely they looked like 2D paintings. And it wasn't only the mountains, it was also the rest of the landscape around the house.

"H-how is this possible? What did you do?" Aeryn asked the woman.

"I did nothing. You were the one who was living such a happy life that didn't even noticed that everything around her was fake. Just how miserable are you?"

"You witch, turn everything back to normal." Aeryn said and grabbed the woman from her hands.

"Oh? A little aggressive aren't we? If it weren't that I have to protect you I would have killed you on the spot. But now you need to find a way out of here. That of course if you want to live your real life, and save your friends."

That time Aeryn's parents came out of the house and standed in front of her.

"Come inside darling, it's cold outside." Her mother said.

Aeryn looked behind her to spot the woman but she had disappeared.

'Ah, just another dream.' Aeryn thought.

But even though she knew that something inside her was craving to see again those two people she saw in her dream she chose to let it go.

Either way what could possibly go wrong right? It was just an ordinary dream.

From the moment Aeryn had seen this woman she couldn't stop thinking about what she had seen. But although she was looking around the house she couldn't figure out if the scenery was real or fake.

And this wasn't the end. After her meeting with the woman her parents started acting a lot more strange.

They wanted to be all the time near her and they were even spying on her when they thought that she wasn't paying attention to them.

She had started feeling uneasy around them and she couldn't understand why. The only thing that she knew for sure it was that it had something to do with the woman she had seen some days ago.
