I began to prepare at once even when my head still ached badly. I found a white crop top with thin straps among the clothes Carter got for me and I paired it up with a pair of denim shorts that stopped mid thigh. With dark sunglasses and white sneakers to match, I was ready to go.
I made my way to the lobby with my heart hammering hard against my ribcage. The thought of facing Carter bugged my mind and I've never felt this way because of that dumbass before.
My anticipation made me the first to arrive at the lobby and so I waited around for Carter and the others to show up.
It didn't take long before I saw him come out from another corner with a bottle of water in hand.
Surprisingly, he was alone. No blonde clingy bimbo or her reckless brother. His eyes caught mine and my breathing hitched slightly. He began to walk towards me. With each step he took, it felt like I was losing a year off my lifetime with the way my heart was racing.
