Chereads / My Irresistible Sugarplum / Chapter 9 - Just pant.

Chapter 9 - Just pant.

Lunch was amazing, and unfortunately, time quickly passed without me being aware.

Ace offered that I and my sister stay at his house, which wasn't a problem for me.

Besides, my house rent is about to expire, so sharing a house with him is going to enhance less spending, and in that way, I'm going to become extremely rich.

Abe was the driver of the day. He drove me to my previous house so that I would be able to pack my stuff.

Truth be told, I don't have many belongings, so I had to carry just I and my sister's clothes.

Ace offered my younger sister a fancy room, and he also offered a room meant for me alone.

I spent the entire afternoon arranging my sister's room, and now I have to sleep.

Speaking about sleep! I had just made my way out of my younger sister's room.

I read a bedtime story for her until she finally fell asleep.

"Are you thinking of backing out?" The voice of Ace startled me, while I'm closing the door.

"Why would I back out?" I question, with my brows slightly arched.

"I don't know? But you seem to be lost in thought." He replied, before making his way towards the staircase.

"You are going to fall." I quickly uttered, while grabbing the handle of his wheelchair.

Ace slowly turned around and gazed at me in surprise. "It won't crash. It's an scewo electric wheelchair." He said, and with that, he pressed a button on the handle, and the wheelchair started moving.

A flat long stair lifter was suddenly seen on the wheelchair, and it assisted Ace to climb down the stairs without crashing.

"Woah! Technology these days is amazing." I exclaim while walking behind Ace.

On getting to the sitting room, he rode his wheelchair towards the fireplace, as he brought out something from his pocket.

It is a cigarette.

"Do you smoke?" I question because I have never pictured Ace as an individual who is a fan of cigarettes.

He turns around and gazes at me fiercely. "Do I have any reason not to?" He replied to my question with a question.

I bite my lower lip and stare away. Besides, I don't want a situation where he would start getting pissed off by any little word that comes out of my mouth.

He places a cigarette in his mouth, and I stare at him intensely to see how he's going to look like while smoking.

I felt like someone who was just gazing at him for no good reason because instead of turning on the cigarette, he kept it back in his pocket.

The sitting room became deadly silent, so I finally decided to go to bed.

Besides, I can't tell what's ahead of me tomorrow.

Making my way towards the stairs, Ace called out my name. "Na-ta-sha"

There's a feeling I get whenever I hear him calling my name. Perhaps it's because I'm his contracted wife.

He breaks the pronunciation of my name to a way that it somewhat sounds foreign

"Huh?" I mumble while swallowing my saliva hard.

"We need to discuss!" He said.

Gush! His voice alone sounds like that of a model.

I promptly nodded my head and made my way toward him. "What do you want to talk about?" I question.

"The contract!" He uttered, and I nodded once more. "What about it?"

He exhale loudly, before diverting his gaze from the fireplace, as he stares at me. "I want the contract to be between the two of us."

I rolled my eyes inwardly, and scuffed. "Who the hell do you think would sign a contract and make it public?" I interrogate.

I don't wish to tell others that I'm staying with a handsome guy like him just because of a mere contract. I also don't plan on telling others that I share a roof with him.

"So you are saying that you won't, right?" He asked, just wanting to make sure.

"I won't," I replied firmly, with an authoritative voice. "Today has been a busy day for me, so why don't we call it a night?" I asked.

"Fair enough." Ace replied while nodding.

I smile and make my way back to my room.

The room is well-decorated and spacious. The room alone is bigger than the house I and my younger sister previously live in.

I made my way toward the bathroom, and gasped.

The bathroom has a fancy bathtub.

I took my bath and wore one of the nightgowns that I had brought here.

Lying down on the bed like a starfish, I gaze at the ceiling and start pondering my current decision so far.

I was still in thought when I slept off, only to be woken up by the alarm clock the next morning.

It's five o'clock, and I have to prepare breakfast so that Bellatrix won't be late for school.

I made my way towards the kitchen and prepare some sandwich.

Making my way towards my younger sister's room, I helped her get dressed and in no time we left the house.

"How was your night?" I asked her while caressing her soft hair.

"It was great because I slept in a big bed." She replied while smiling back at me. "Are you going to fall in love with your friend?" She questions.

My smile grew wider, and I shook my head sideways. "I'm just going to stay at his house for two months, and after that, we will return to my old house," I reassured her.

The cab driver stopped the car when we finally got to our destination. "Make sure you avoid the rain okay!" I advise because I don't think I can risk spending another three thousand dollars.

"Yes, ma! And kindly make it on time to pick me up."

I nod my head and bid her farewell.

It's still some minutes to seven, so I quickly made my way back to Ace Manson.

I didn't see him and Abe before leaving so I guess that they must have been sleeping.

Making my way towards the mansion, I prepared breakfast for myself and ate it all alone.

'Seriously! Where's my so-called husband?' I question myself, as I continue to do the dishes.

"Ace, have you called Mister James to do the  laundry?" The voice of Abe was heard, as he made his way down the stairs.

I shifted my gaze towards him.... and the first thing I saw made my eyes fall out.

He's currently putting on a red pant. I mean just pant!
