“I think all mothers care for their kids.”
“Not everyone is that lucky.” Emma gave him a weak smile.
The pleasing atmosphere between them suddenly turned gloomy.
The sad look on her face pinched his heart. He didn’t like seeing her that way.
“Are you okay?” He gently brushed his arm against hers.
“I am fine.”
“Alright, give me that—” he took the cup from her hand. “Too much coffee always kills the vibe.” He then tossed it in the trash. “What do you wanna do next?”
“I think there is a lake nearby. Do you wanna check it out?” She remembered seeing a board not too far away from the cafe they had stopped by.
“Okay, let’s go.”
…..
After a short ten minutes drive, they arrived at the lake.
Emma and Daniel sat on the edge of the wooden walkway built on the lake.
Looking at the vast skyline-silver lake, she smiled. “I love lake sides, it makes me feel so peaceful.”
“What are the other things you like?” When she looked at him, he added, “I wanna know.”
