Chapter 5 - Unique Class

"Lei Zhen, just how lucky are you to encounter a Unique Class right from the get-go?" Shan Lin's voice continued to turn louder from the phone.

It was a good thing that Lei Zhen had learned his previous lesson and turned the phone on speaker mode. Otherwise, Lei Zhen was sure his ears would go deaf by the time the conversation ended.

Sometime later, Shan Lin's throat finally turned dry as he stopped shouting.

"Anyway, now that you finished screaming like some madman, can you kindly explain what's a Unique Class?" Lei Zhen asked calmly.

Magnolia was simply too big of a game and with his amateur knowledge, it was like studying medicine all over from scratch. There are too many things to memorize and too many new categories.

"Ugh, alright then. In Magnolia, besides the 6 common known game classes that players get to choose at the beginning, there are other secret classes that you can obtain through story quests and hidden missions. And we called them Unique Classes because of the sheer broken powerful skills you can learn from it."

Shan Lin managed to use one breath of time to explain the entirety of the Unique Class in a simple and straightforward manner.

"I see, but I don't find myself being powerful." Lei Zhen muttered through the speaker.

As much as he could recall, he was still like a normal human being stuck in a rainforest sort of environment.

"L-Lei Zhen, I really am speechless about you." Shan Lin felt like he was talking to an inanimate object.

Lei Zhen might be more clever than him in terms of school and studying.

However, when it comes to gaming experience, Shan Lin was like an expert whereas Lei Zhen was a complete amateur.

"You are only level 1 now, Lei Zhen. Of course, you won't feel powerful at all." Shan Lin explained. "Just tell me your current location now, so I can just explain it to you through Magnolia."

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

He rubbed his chin slightly, hoping to recall the location he was transported into.

'What was the area that they sent me into?' He wondered silently.

Sometime later, Lei Zhen finally recalled the location and responded to Shan Lin.

"Shan Lin, I was transported to a place called Lux Forest. What is the fastest possible time you can meet up with me?"

"..."

"Shan Lin? Are you still there?"

Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow when Shan Lin stopped communicating with him.

'What's his problem nowadays? He's either way too hype or way too silent.' Lei Zhen wondered silently.

After a while, Shan Lin finally responded back on the phone.

"You goddamn crazy maniac. You just made me choke on my own saliva with that. Lux Forest? How the hell did you even manage to land yourself in such a high-level area?"

"High-level area? But it was the game that transported me there."

"Oh dear lord, just what kind of insane bug did you manage to encounter? The game has been out for 4 years and there was never an incident like this."

"You ask me, and I ask who? How am I supposed to know all these details when I literally just started." Lei Zhen said as he closed the phone in annoyance.

He was the most innocent person in this matter, and even now, he still couldn't comprehend a single thing that had occurred.

Just when Lei Zhen wanted to return to the MagnoPod, the landlord, Bao Shui called out to him.

"Lei Zhen, what happened to your door?"

"Ah, Landlord Bao Shui… I'm sorry about the broken door, but there will be someone coming in to fix it." Lei Zhen hurriedly apologized.

"Is this month's rent coming up again?" he then asked.

"Oh no, you still have a lot of days before the rent is due. I'm just walking through each apartment to inform them that we had another electrical outage."

"T-There was an electrical outage before?"

Bao Shui nodded his head.

"Mhmm, according to the electrician, the cause of the outage was because of a high-tech technology equipped into the system. Though you can rest assured, Lei Zhen, the problem has been fixed already." Bao Shui calmly replied.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen held a ghastly expression as he felt like the cause of the outage was related to the MagnoPod.

'Sigh, this is why I shouldn't have even tried to game on something expensive.' Lei Zhen sighed inwardly.

Based on Bao Shui's information, Lei Zhen could predict that the moment he connected the MagnoPod to the power source, it had caused the electrical current to go crazy.

And by that definition, Lei Zhen guessed that the error he encountered must have happened during the outage process.

"Anyway, hopefully, you can fix the door by midnight since you'll need to be concerned for your safety." Bao Shui gave his final warning before leaving to inform the other tenants.

As a dutiful landlord, Bao Shui wished that everyone would be informed of the latest news without being in the dark. They are after all still human even if they are living in a poor environment.

"See you later, Landlord Bao Shui." Lei Zhen bid farewell to him and returned to his apartment.

Walking to the small living room, Lei Zhen decided to go on his phone and search through some online shopping websites.

"I can't be selfish and continuously cause power outages because I wanted to game…" Lei Zhen muttered.

After some online searching, Lei Zhen found a cheap yet reliable power generator at the price of $569.

With an extremely painful emotion, Lei Zhen slowly placed his finger on the phone to add the power generator into his shopping cart.

"I better find a part-time job soon to regain my money…"

Once Lei Zhen reluctantly parted with his money to purchase the power generator, he plopped on the floor with a disbelief expression.

Tilting his head sideways and looking at the stack of medical textbooks on a broken table, Lei Zhen showed a bitter smile.

'Hopefully, I didn't make the wrong decision,' he thought.
