Seth spotted Melody on a bench in the school garden, sitting under a chestnut tree. She was sketching something he couldn't make out from the distance between them. He made sure she'd got a glimpse of him before he tried out the mind communication skills that Reichert had taught him.
MELODY, MEET ME IN THE SUPPLY CLOSET.
Melody held Seth's gaze, the voice spoke softly. It felt like he was in her head. She stood up and went to the supply closet.
Seth was elated she'd heard him.
CAN YOU HEAR ME?
"It's like you're inside my head or something?"
She couldn't shake off the feeling that the Queen had thought him a few tricks.

Melody was curious about this new telepathy skill.
