A gentle breeze carried the scent of cottonwood, and Melody could swear that she saw Seth glare at her as he turned around.
"Why did you follow me here...?"
Seth was feeling the darkness within him rising. He fought it, but it was not a substance that could be pushed away or suppressed. It was in his very own shadow, covering him, taking him back down a deep black hole and forcing him to submit to the feelings of destruction.
He felt his body absorbing more of it the more he resisted. It was seeping into every pore until the blackness was part of him, and tore at his flesh to subdue him to its blind commands.
