Chapter 12 - 11

"Thanks, Ben!" said Mike when a cup of coffee was served in front of him. Luxurious room with various files that instantly made Mike uncomfortable. He is a person who likes freedom and this room doesn't seem suitable for a man to enter in a tattered shirt and pants that are full of rips like him. The free energy it carries seems to be the opposite of the room that seems serious.

'"Hmmm… oddly, you've met your cousin," quipped Benny, who is Mike's cousin. His body was thrown towards the sofa opposite Mike. His hand went up to stretch out the tie that felt so suffocating.

"Your words sound like sarcasm. But if I'm being honest, you look well suited for an office job like this."

"Thank you for replying to my sarcasm. If you mean it fits with a body full of tattoos and ear and nose piercings like this, it makes me think how blind you are?"

"Hahaha… can I laugh?"

"You idiot!"

Benny is Mike's closest person. Good sibling relationships are sometimes still covered by a strong attitude of wanting to win themselves from them. Mouths that will automatically reply to every opponent's words with sarcastic words, even so, they never bring it into trouble. They are indeed close in their frontal way.

"You have even more stupid subordinates. They almost made me throw a raw bombshell when they rudely accused me of being an intruder. Is it because I dress like a thug? It's like they don't know that their boss is much worse than me."

"You came here to insult me, how about that?" annoyed Benny by rolling his eyes.

'"Haha… teasing you turns my mood up by a few percent. And ya… You know exactly what I want to ask," Mike said making Benny confused. Why not just ask, "How's dad? He's still fit to seduce some women, right?"

Mike raised his glass and took a sip of the coffee he made for him. The dominant taste is bitter with a very thick color, the aroma of coffee that smells so strong is indeed suitable for his taste.

'"Before that... Tell this cousin of yours one thing, who's the boy who lives at your place?"

"Uhuk… you know?"

Mike almost spit out the coffee he hadn't completely swallowed. It is undeniable that all his actions will be recorded by the messengers. A little worried because maybe "that person" will act differently. Benny is indeed the closest person, but it's a different story if his cousin is faced with the ruler.

Mike suddenly remembered the authoritarian actions that were always directed at him. The past story about the disappearance of all his friends seemed to be proof that "that person" was still in control of his life. He was worried about Devan who was different from his previous environment. Mike did realize that the circle he entered was not good. Party alcohol, sex, and wild racing are included in it. But on the other hand, Mike wants Devan beside him. A foreign teenager who was even the opposite of him. Mike was quite grateful that Benny said that now, taking care of the teenager he already considered a younger brother would be tightened.

"My eyes are everywhere, remember?" Benny replied by raising and lowering his right eyebrow.

"I also don't know why I'm suddenly being nice to strangers like him. You know, the thugs I used to want to kill, they went crazy when the alcohol took over his body so stupidly targeted the boy to… Well, you know!" Mike explained, his hand placing the half-filled glass.

"Those thugs who are now your new friends, right? Why did you save that foreign boy? Usually, you join, Hahahaha…"

"How can I have friends? After all, it's just crazy, even though like this I still love my body's health."

"Really? Then what about the bitches you use almost every week?"

"Why do you even want to know my bed life?"

"Just curious."

"Oh yeah… How's that guy doing?" Mike asked, not forgetting his original intention to meet his cousin and tie thug in front of him.

"Just say you're here because you're worried about him."

"Then, forget it."

"You just got angry. The old man is still the same, likes to get angry at will, and worst of all, I'm the target now," explained Benny, imagining the ferocity of Reynard, the person who was Mike's biological father. The relationship between father and son was strained more than eight years ago since Mira, Mike's mother passed away.

"Haahaa… Just enjoy your days, cousin!"

"Who are you going home with, Dev?" Rifky asked as the four of them walked out of the school together a few moments after the clock came home.

"As usual, with my brother, what's wrong?" short answered Devan.

"You are very lucky to have a brother who is so caring plus he is so handsome, if I were you I might fall in love with my brother," Reno said with a beaming face, his hand wrapped around Devan's shoulder who is almost the same height as him.

"You like boys?" asked Fandy who was so researching every word that was said by Reno. Their steps stopped simultaneously with their gazes focused on Reno.

"Eh!?"

Reno didn't know what to say. Moreover, the intense gaze looking at him made him instantly awkward.

"It looks like it's your brother Dev! Let's go first, bye!"

Reno breathed a sigh of relief when Rifky saved him from the strange situation earlier. Their intertwined hands made Devan and Fandy conclude too far.

"Ekhem! I go first, Fan," said Devan after waking up from his shock.

"Oh yeah! Don't forget next week you have to join our swimming club."

"I'll consider it," said Devan lazily, and Fandy responded with a satisfied smile. Devan is the type of student who is not at all active in school activities. Admittedly he was lazy, but getting encouragement from his new friends couldn't just be ignored. Besides, he couldn't escape the words, "It's an obligation for all students to attend at least one of the many extracurricular activities".

The two of them have branched out. Devan walked over to Mike who seemed to be waving at him.

"Judging from your smile... It seems that you are pleased with the gazes of the girls who seem to admire you so much. Oh yeah, and you got a lot of greetings from a lot of girls today."

What Devan said is true. All the women who approached him even made it uncomfortable when they heard the many compliments for Mike. He really couldn't respond to his dislike clearly, smiled and faintly with a slow nod even though Devan never gave away some of the letters that were currently in his nightstand drawer.

"And you look like a woman who is nagging because her soul mate is cheating on her," said Mike making Devan's face redden instantly.

"Soul mate? You're my daddy, right!"

"You used to call me uncle and now daddy? Oh, come on Dev… Why don't you just call me brother, anyway? That would sound funny.

"It won't."
