Chapter 9 - Decoding The Mural

"you have gotten even bigger..." said the lady, looking at Martha's melons.

"shut up!" Martha cut her out with a spank on her ass.

Looking at the two hot women like this Mark gulped hard.

he wasn't going to complain though.

after they entered the mansion, Mark couldn't help but wander his eyes around. this mansion had a vintage theme inside.

They sat on the couch and began to talk.

"I totally thought you forget about me though..." The Lady said teasingly.

"Come on Kelli you know how busy I was during this time of the year. we lost almost 200 students in the last training camp."

Martha said in a dejected voice.

"don't worry you did your best, there is nothing you can do, they have to get stronger by themselves, your job is to just guide them."

Kelli said trying to console her friend, she got closer to her and whispered,

"or do you want me to comfort you personally?"

"hey! cut it off" Martha said and took a step back.

"And who is this young man?" Kelli asked and stopped teasing Martha.

"oh, take a guess, you might've heard of him before..." Martha said as she got behind him and put her arm on her shoulders.

"well... he is a fine-looking young man, I must say, his physics is not ordinary."

Said Kelli after seizing up from head to toe.

"He is the irregular of our academy, Mark Flynn," Martha said in a proud tone.

"Hello Um... Miss Kelli" Mark greeted her.

Kelli looked surprised. she went closer to him and examined him from outside. her eyes shined and she poked his biceps.

"hm... such an amazing body, but I heard that he couldn't use magic?"

she said in a confused tone.

"Yeah, that's the only reason he couldn't tackle the 7th floor," she said in a remorseful manner.

Mark was just sat there silently, with an awkward smile, as he couldn't understand a single thing.

"Oh! by the way, I was here today for something," Martha said calmly.

Kelli looked at her expression and breathed in.

"What is it?"

suddenly a book appeared in her hand out of nowhere. it was the book Mark showed her before. she opened it and showed her the picture.

"I have checked the records and it seems that you have this Mural, so I was wondering if you let us take a look at it."

Kelli looked at the boulder carefully and then said, "Oh Yeah, I remember this, I brought it from the auction years ago."

Mark and Martha smiled.

"Ron!"

Kelli shouted.

as soon as she finished, an old man in a Butler outfit emerged from the corner of the room.

Mark raised his eyebrows and looked at him, trying to figure out what he did.

"milady!"

he bowed to Kelli.

"where did we put the boulder from the auction?" she asked with a stern voice.

the Butler looked up and spoke, "I believe, it's in the storage."

"you may go back to your work!" Kelli said in a cold tone.

the Butler disappeared into the darkness, the same way he appeared.

Kelli turned into her sweet self looking at Martha.

Mark looked at them with curiosity.

'something is sus...' he thought looking at the two hot women flirting.

he decided to be ignorant for now.

Kelli led them to the storage room.

as they entered the storage, Mark saw a lot of boxes. the room was filled with dust.

Kelly went over to the desk and looked at the registry. then she moved a few boxes.

"ah! I got it," she said and retrieved the Mural.

the mural was as big as a wheel of a motorcycle.

Mark's eyes lit up.

<< Secret note detected! scanning... please make body contact with the Mural to proceed. >>

"Miss Kelli, do you mind if I take a look?" he said enthusiastically.

Kelli looked at Martha who only nodded.

"here..." she handed him the Mural.

Mark easily took it from her hands and placed it on the desk.

he turned it around and looked very carefully. but unfortunately, he couldn't understand a single letter or symbol.

<< scanned successfully. decoding...>>

<< the Entity is no more, we celebrated. Humans won! humans had suffered for centuries, but now it's over. but there are some, who believed that this isn't over yet. the seal can't hold it back for eternity. and when the time comes, humanity will fall into crisis. when the time comes, only one thing that can save the human race is the power of faith.

the power of faith lies in humans.

On the night when the three moons will merge, the guardian will wake up from its deep slumber.

when the entity will break free from the seal, only the power of faith can save the humans... Oh Almighty God! protect your children. >>

Mark's face paled as he looked at all the information.

"Mark!"

"Mark!"

he was so immersed in the information that he didn't hear them or looked around him.

suddenly he clinched and came back to reality.

"huh?" he looked at them with a nervous gaze.

"what happened Mark? you alright?" asked Martha with worry flashing through her tone.

Kelli also looked concerned.

"I... I am fine." he sighed and sat on the desk.

the next moment the Mural started to glow with a silver light.

the three of them looked at the Mural with wide eyes.

cracks appeared on the surface of the Mural and the moment before they could react the Mural crumbled into pieces.

"what happened?" Kelli exclaimed in shock looking at the pieces.

Martha smiled wryly.

Mark was still in dilemma.

<< ancient artifact detected. >>

Mark looked at the messages and jumped off the desk. he started to find something among the pieces of the Mural.

"This..." Mark picked something and showed it to them.

"What the heck is this?" Martha cringed looking at the artifact.

"An earring? where is the other one?" asked Kelli with curiosity.

Mark looked at the earring, which is just a pearl and a metal hook.

"don't know..." Mark shrugged.

they both searched through crumbled Mural, but alas they could find the other one.

"Mark, what just happened?" asked both Martha and Kelli

"Miss Martha, as I said before I can decode the ancient writings. and I did," he said calmly.

"You can decode these ancient writings?!" Kelli exclaimed in shock.

"What did it say?" ignoring her shock Martha asked.

sigh... deeply sighing he started to explain...

after a few minutes, "What did you say? Power of faith?" Kelli asked with surprise.

Martha believed in him, but Kelli was still skeptical about it.

Kelli picked the earring and started to pour her mana into it to check.

"hmm... it looks like some decorative piece. I don't feel any mana signatures or a core. it doesn't look like an artifact." Kelli said with an annoyed expression.

"hey, Kelli! give it to me..." she said snatching it from her. "I don't think you need this, I am keeping it okay?" she said.

Kelli scratched her head and sighed. "Mark, I don't know what happened. and I don't care but if what you said is true, we can't just sit here and do nothing. I will look through the ancient records and gather information."

Kelli decided to believe in him, Martha smiled and passed the earring to Mark.

"you should keep this,"

Mark looked at Kelli and took the earring.
