"I usually write official letters on your behalf, Your Grace." Gemi relayed to Chantria.
"Is that right?... allow me to make an attempt this time, I shall have to become familiar with it one way or the other." Chantria said to Gemi with a smile.
Gemi nodded in agreement and fetched a different pen for Chantria.
"This is the right ink to use." Gemi informed Chantria, taking away the other pen Chantria had been about to use.
"There is a special ink for letters to the Emperor?" Chantria asked in bafflement.
"Only the ink delivered from the royal store can be used for official letters to the Emperor. This ink is especially made to neutralize any poisonous content that might be added to it, or detect poison lathered on parchments and change its color in reaction."
"This will then be detected by the expert poison testers on the emperor's retinue and the parchment will be destroyed without ever reaching the emperor's hands." Gemi explained.
