Chapter 9 - 20% Basic Information (Ch.9)

"She really doesn't remember anything... nothing at all?" A first voice asked in a sad tone.

"The potency of the poison was too great, it's a miracle Her Grace survived." Another voice replied with a heavy sigh.

"Amir has really messed things up this time, what are we to do?" Came a third voice.

"Prince Dewei has him on close watch, he will never let him off. But I doubt he would go against Her Grace's wishes. For now, her orders will keep Amir alive till she awakens." Came the second voice again.

"Do you think she will spare him? He did not mean to yet Her Grace was harmed by him. Her Grace is many things, but she is not known for her mercy." The first voice murmured,

"She did save him from the Deep, didn't she? Perhaps she will not stand by and watch him die...I dearly hope she does not." The third voice said again.

Chantria awakened to the sound of muffled voices having this conversation, her eyes fluttered open slightly as she lifted a hand to cradle her aching head.

It took a moment for her vision to adjust to her environment and she realized she had awakened in some extravagant looking room.

"What the hell?" Chantria murmured quietly,

The first thing Chantria took notice of was the fact that the tail that weighed a ton had vanished, replaced by a pair of legs.

Although they were tucked beneath pristine white beddings, she could feel her toes as she wiggled them.

Chantria glanced around the large room, everything seemed to be crafted from some sort of precious gem and Chantria hoped dearly these were actually imitations of precious gems and not actual gems carved into room decorations.

Chantria decided not to concern herself with such things, she was relieved at the fact that she had gotten her legs back, that was a great start.

Chantria noticed the voices had come from outside her doors and she was all alone here in her quarters.

She decided this was the perfect time to access that basic introduction and so Chantria's eyes fluttered closed as she summoned the status screen.

The glowing screen appeared as Chantria expected, however she was astonished to see a new mission alert.

HAREM MISSION: SAVE AMIR NAEEM!

MISSION LEVEL: HARD

MISSION STATUS: 20% COMPLETED

REWARD: VOICE MODULATION/ 20% BASIC INFORMATION (UNLOCKED)

80% BASIC INFORMATION (LOCKED)

HIDDEN MISSION: AVAILABLE

MISSION STATUS: PENDING

REWARD FOR HIDDEN MISSION: HAREM JOURNAL

Chantria frowned slightly wondering if there was something wrong with the system's calculations,

If she remembered correctly, she had already saved the beautiful man and had even threatened to drown anyone who dared lay a hand on him, what more did the system want?

Chantria sighed and mentally tapped the reward option, pulling up the reward page of the Harem System.

ACCESS REWARD (BASIC INFORMATION).

ACCESS REWARD (BASIC INTRODUCTION).

ACCESS REWARD (VOICE MODULATION).

ACCESS MORE INFORMATION ON ACQUIRED REWARDS.

'Basic Information and Basic Introduction?' Chantria wondered what exactly was the difference between the two and so she mentally tapped the option for more information.

The status screen immediately pulled up a new page in response.

DETAILS ON BASIC INFORMATION INCLUDE BRIEF HISTORY OF HOST STORED IN SYSTEM ARCHIVES.

DETAILS ON BASIC INTRODUCTION INCLUDE MORE DETAILS ON SYSTEM AND HOST'S JOINT MISSION.

VOICE MODULATION INCLUDES SYSTEM UPGRADE TO VOICE REPORTS AND MISSIONS.

'Oh... exactly what I need!' Chantria thought as she immediately selected the option for 'ACCESS BASIC INFORMATION'.

Chantria felt her most pressing need was to understand her own personal situation and why she was being mistaken as some Saint who had been murdered.

Responding to Chantria's selection, the system immediately pulled up a new screen.

ACCESS TO 20% BASIC INFORMATION GRANTED!

SYSTEM WILL NOW TRANSMIT TO HOST'S MEMORY 20% OF THE INFORMATION OF HOST'S LIFE MADE AVAILABLE TO SYSTEM.

The moment Chantria read these words on the status screen, a searing pain rushed through her head, her hand jerked up to cradle her head as a surge of fragmented memories filled her mind.

The memories filling her mind were in bits and pieces but told the life and events of a certain Saint Chantria,

Not so much information was available in the memories as they were mostly fragmented and in bits and pieces, but the parts which were understandable revealed the following to Chantria.

-She presently occupied the body of a certain Saint Chantria. Full name: Chantria Avril Kivon.

-She was presently in a strange nation called the Kalavan Deep.

-She was the only daughter of the Second Arch Prince of the Kalavan Deep and the Emperor's niece.

- She was the chosen guardian of the deep (sea) hence her abnormal ability to transform into a mermaid.

And much to Chantria's disappointment, that was all the information available.

The 20% Basic information still did not explain who Amir Naeem was, or the other two men.

Neither did it tell Chantria what she was doing here and how she had gotten here,

It also did not explain exactly why she had found herself at the bottom of the sea and why Amir Naeem was being accused of murdering or attempting to murder her.

It gave nothing about Saint Chantria's past or any of the events that had led up to this moment and exactly what it meant to be a Saint and why it seemed she was regarded as a god of some sort.

It did not help Chantria understand why all her senses had become so heightened all of a sudden and she could see and hear for miles if she tried, especially beneath the sea.

Furthermore, it did not give Chantria the slightest hint as to what she was supposed to do from here on out.

But it did give Chantria something... after glimpsing through the fragmented memories like a third person in someone else's story,

Chantria had just realized in horror just why the title and name 'Saint Chantria' had sounded so familiar to her earlier,

It was because she had truly heard it before, and she knew exactly where she had heard it...
