"Why are you treating me so strangely? Is this how one is treated in a kingdom?" Gretta asked Sid who was cleaning up Gretta's bedroom.
Yes, Gretta now had her own room. With a spacious size and complete facilities, the bed, dressing table, soft sofa, and bathroom were all there.
Since Gretta had set foot in the palace, this was the third time she had changed rooms. It was getting better by the day, but it was also getting weirder for Gretta herself.
"Why do you keep changing rooms for me? Why not just bring me to this room if I'm going to be placed here in the end?"
Sid was done with his work, she then turned to Gretta. "We did it as per the king's request, Princess," she said looking at Gretta with a friendly smile.
"But why? Why would he do that."
"So that you can't learn every detail of every room in this palace, it's not something you need to do," Sid replied casually, not forgetting that her friendly smile still shone every time she explained anything.
Gretta was a little surprised by Sid's statement. It was true that while Gretta was locked up wherever it was, the thing she always paid attention to was the shape, structure, and details of each room. Trying to find out if there were pieces of her memories there.
One thing she wondered was why Sid casually told her everything Gretta asked? She didn't seem to care if Rhys found out. Or, maybe it was Rhys who asked her to do that.
"What are you guys? You don't look human." Gretta looked Sid up and down. It was strange to her about the woman's character, who knows if she is a robot from the future.
"We are not human, Princess. To be precise, we are werewolves, just like the other residents you may have met before entering this palace."
Gretta nodded in understanding, the werewolf article she already knew. She thought they were creatures other than humans or werewolves.
"I have one request." Gretta turned her head to Sid. "Please stop calling me princess, change it to something else. It's so ridiculous."
Sid seemed hesitant at first and was going to refuse the request on the grounds that it was an order from His Majesty the King, but with persuasion as well as coercion he finally agreed.
"Alright, I'll call you by your nickname, Miss?"
Gretta nodded in agreement, it sounded better compared to the previous one.
Sid left to continue her work if Gretta had no more questions, and now Gretta was left alone there.
Seeing Sid's footsteps coming out of her room, Gretta thought of something. The werewolf had the ability to read other people's minds, which meant there was a good chance Sid could do it too. Including to Gretta, right? Or was the woman unable to because of the strata?
But, Gretta didn't even know what her strata was. It was possible that she was far below Sid who was basically a werewolf. While her status was unclear, all she knew at the moment was that she was an ordinary human with some abilities beyond the limits of an ordinary human.
Even if Sid could read her thoughts, it would not have much effect on Gretta. She didn't feel like she was hiding anything, it was all the things related to her that were now hidden. I don't know where and I don't know who.
Gretta looked out the window near where she was sitting, looking at the nature out there that looked free and seemed to be quite happy.
"Is Leon going to come back here again? Or will he leave me here?" she asked herself. "But Rhys is still looking for him, and seems to want him badly, for whatever reason." Gretta sighed and rested her chin on her knees.
In her reverie, in the distance Gretta saw something floating towards her. Blinking her eyes and dodging as quickly as possible, the object entered Gretta's room and stuck on the wall opposite to her current sitting position.
She was so shocked to see the arrow that almost pierced her head. She looked out the window to see who it was, but found no one. There was only a shadow that disappeared into the undergrowth.
Gretta stood up and ran out of her room. She had the arrow with her and was going to search for the glimpse of shadow she had seen. Whoever the culprit was, Gretta would find it somehow.
"Miss!" called Sid when he saw Gretta running out of her room. Some of the guards who noticed her chased after Gretta. They could die if Gretta escaped.
"What are you guys doing? You can't even guard a girl!" Sid snapped at some of the guards. Gretta's room happened to be less guarded after Sid got out of there. They were downstairs on a call, and only two people were left on guard.
Because Gretta came out suddenly and while running, the bodyguards were unable to stop her on the spot.
Unexpectedly, instead of running towards the gate or the bushes, Gretta ran towards the hall. Where everyone was gathered there, there were Mat, Colin, Rhys, and many more royal guards who were not familiar to Gretta.
With her emotions, Gretta threw the arrow in her hand at Rhys. The people there realized Gretta's arrival, Colin who swiftly caught the arrow before it reached Rhys.
The other guards grabbed Gretta and forcibly pulled her out of there.
"If you want to kill me, kill me right now you disgusting animal!" Gretta said angrily.
"Let her go," Rhys ordered.
"You really are crazier than I imagined." Rhys walked over and pulled Gretta from the hall. He forcibly took the girl back to her room.
Several times Gretta rebelled to be released, but it was useless because her strength was not that strong against Rhys' power.
The people who were there could only watch, no one could do anything or say anything including Mat and Colin. At the corner of his lips, Colin could see a small smile. At a time like that, it meant Rhys was furious. Can you imagine what he would do to Gretta, tearing her apart perhaps?
Several other people were also quite in agreement with Colin's estimation. There was never a safe word after finding trouble with Rhys, his own sister alone he could finish off let alone a stranger he just met.
"What do you want?!" Rhys asked Gretta once they reached Gretta's room.
"Does this palace have no security system at all? I was sitting in that chair and someone shot at me from down there. If I hadn't dodged I would have been dead by now."
"Or was it actually your plan? It was one of your men? Then if so, why not kill me first?"
"Listen!" Rhys grabbed Gretta by the neck and pinned her against the wall. "My patience is very limited, even if you are useful to me if you are always looking for trouble, I will kill you."
I don't know where Gretta's courage came from, she was not afraid at all, she even returned Rhys' sharp gaze to her. As if challenging to be killed if that was what she had to accept.
"You think it's that easy, Gretta? I will wait until your slaughter is really painful. Not just for you, but also for everyone around you."
