I remained silent, not sure on what to say.
She sounds really desperate to have him. This makes everything more uncomfortable.
Daphne also keeps quiet as Sherry spoke more about Keiran. His abs, looks, steps. And crazy enough, she also mentioned how good he could be in bed. She had some sort of kinky side of her that craves for only him.
I imagined me breaking the bond with Keiran only for him to move on with Sherry.
But I doubt we'll be able to move on. From the stories I've heard, breaking things up with your mate makes one miserable and go through weakness on a different level.
I never thought I'd be that person the first time I started spending time with Keiran. He wasn't so sweet, soft or dreamy. He didn't talk much, stubborn but he was honest and wasn't scared to let out his thoughts. He was gentle in so many ways. I should have known he didn't feel the same way, he could leave anytime he pleased and return with intentions of making everything go back to normal. Maybe one day, I'll be the one to leave. Yup, that's right!
I'll be the one to cheat and break his stupid heart.
After she was done applying the makeup, I turned around to see no Daphne. She was sitting right on the bed.
Where did she disappear to?
I got up and exit the room but halted when I found her peeping into Jared's bedroom with the door slightly open.
I cleared my throat in a dramatic way and she jerked away from the door.
"What are you doing? Snooping around?" I grinned with a laugh and her cheeks flushed.
"I wanted to see what his bedroom looked like since I was here. A house tour is what's reigning this days." She replied closing the door properly.
"And by him, you mean?..."
"Your brother, Jared."
"Interesting." I remarked and she chuckled.
I wondered if she was interested in him in a dating kind of way or if it was just a mere snooping around. Jared has Tiana and I just wish nothing splits them up. The way she helps him is just something my parents can't do for him, not even his best friends. She deserves the best — to be happy.
But Jared doesn't see that, he keeps talking about finally finding his mate so they can be together.
We left the house to Noah's home where the party was happening.
He always throws a party often but I don't attend. Tonight was pretty much the first time I was coming to his gathering.
The atmosphere was filled with lots of positive vibes as we entered the huge house. I caught of a scent of two wolves or three around and I realized I wasn't the only wolf around. It made me somewhat relieved.
Daphne held me tight as we approached a group of people sitting together around a little table. Oh sh*t. Keiran and his friends were the ones sitting around the table.
Something nudges me and I fell on my arse onto a chair right next to...
I glanced up and saw him operating his phone and not minding his surroundings. I never thought I'd see Keiran here. Especially with his whole gang — not after he called Noah an arsehole in the hallways.
Daphne sat at my left amidst the chaos of the party while Sherry was sitting next to Hillary, opposite us.
"Hey guys." Daphne waved and she got the same motion in return. Hillary and Ace passed her a glance while the rest lifted two of their fingers to a brief wave.
Keiran lifted his head from his phone and looked around, his gaze falling on me afterwards. I glared at him before feeling my phone ring from my pocket.
I withdrew it and checked the message.
*Sherry*: let's swap seats, I want to sit beside him! -pouting emoji-
I looked up to see her intensely staring at Keiran whom was now doing whatever.
The music from the speakers was do loud and was blasting around us.
I texted her back.
*Umbrie*: I have something to tell him, you see. A personal matter to discuss. Please wait a bit.
I felt my heart sink after I sent it. I had no idea why I was making up an excuse all of a sudden. Maybe I'm just scared what happened the other night would repeat itself.
A text popped in immediately and I looked into it.
*Sherry*: don't worry, take your time. -smiling emoji-
