"Hey guys. Welcome to Mary's diner. What will you be having?" I said in an overly cheerful voice.
"You work here?" Colin said in amusement as he leaned forward in his chair.
I ignored him, looking at Sarah and Dan for their orders.
"She is just filling in for Lucy," Sarah answered for me.
"I never would have guessed. And here I was thinking your hobby was staring at half naked men." Dan let out a snort and Sarah looked at the both of us confused.
"What is that about?" she asked.
Dan whispered to her. "I'll tell you later."
I could feel my cheek turning pink. "I wasn't staring at you."
Could have fooled me. And I never said we were talking about me," he grinned victoriously.
I took a deep breath as I tried to suppress the urge to strangle him. Colin was still looking at me expectantly waiting for me to respond.
