Demons
an existence that spreads fear throughout the entire world, turning the entire world upside down from its already ever-changing characteristics. They were humanoids who had horns on their heads. Their eyes were dark and their pupils shone red. They were still of unknown origin up to the latest part of The White Heron, but they all had one goal in mind, the destruction of humanity.
They are entities who popped up out of nowhere at the start of the story when Kon was found out to be a contractor of these beings after he went and killed multiple students during the Jernea Party, an event I'll have to keep in mind.
Kon Dover, the son of Ben Dover. Ben was an incredibly influential person who rosed from being a janitor at a back-end area to a Hunter who fought at the frontlines exchanging his life for the freedom and sake of humanity.
The government recognized his honor and sacrifice, giving his family benefits and gratitude for his service to humanity. This money and benefits, Kon's skills in business, and the ever-rising name of Ben Dover were utilized, raising the Dover family to possibly one of the most influential names in the world of business and hunting.
Their names, however, were not only famous, but they were also notorious. The citizens might not mind their presence, but for the other strong and elitist families, someone who was just a janitor born of common blood was unacceptable to join them in their ranks. Not only was the Dover family constantly suppressed by the other families, but they were also constantly facing the torment of the others until they were ultimately forced to fail.
Due to the constant attention from the other strong families, and as much as Kon was good in terms of business, his skills as a Hunter don't even reach his father's feet.
With these factors pressing against the Dover family, Kon and the others couldn't rise to the top again.
His family despised Kon and his father for being born of such a lowly man, forgetting that he was the sole reason they could reach the top in the first place.
And when everything seemed to have fallen apart, he was given another chance. There, standing in front of him was a humanoid who had long goat horns, and eyes charred in black.
" Do you want power? " He spoke only one sentence, yet Kon was immediately captured. This was the only thing he needed... power, as when you don't have the power, you are useless.
The presence in front of him might look like a demon, but to Kon, he was his saving grace when the world had given up on him.
He changed his name from Kon Dover, to Kon Vertoevil. He rose from a useless hunter to a teacher at Tree, hiding within the important grounds of humanity. Acting as the most important human spy for the demons.

" Thanks, Mr. Kon " I reply calmly. I couldn't let my thoughts escape here after all. The Jernea massacre will happen a few months from now, so I should still have plenty of time before the attack.

The class ended, and we were all dismissed. I went straight to the dorms, even though I wanted to go to the training grounds, as I had to reserve my strength for the Lair exploration this night.
I only plan on entering a Normal Lair, so it should be a lot more relaxing than the Giant Lair. I could also now go out without minding the curfew as I was an S class student. The number of things we could do was a lot more than the normal students. It's a way to motivate others, after all. You'll get so many benefits while being an S class that I might not mind it after all. I'd take all the annoyance for this.
The night hit, and I immediately went out after taking a nap. I didn't bring much for this expedition. I just switched my Holic to the Hunter one and went outside.
Lairs are all private property of either the government or the private sector that formed on their lands. Normally, you couldn't enter one just willy-nilly, even if you're a hunter. You would need a license to enter one so that a breakout would be prevented. But as a student of Tree, more so an S class student, the government allows entry to a Normal lair so that they can improve their skills faced with real-life situations, as long as they have a party and some guards with them.
With that in mind, I could pretty much go to a Normal Lair easily, but I had to choose which one I should go to. My goal for this small trip is to get a large sum of money in the quickest way possible, so I should choose a lair where there are a lot of resources.
Now that I think about it, what happened to that Giant lair? I didn't destroy its core, so it would just keep on pumping out Giants. Did the Jolie family take care of it?

" Monster Hunters Lair Raiding Department "
I entered the massive and wide building, riddled with people even at such a late time.
" Hello, I'm here for the Tree training program." I approach the receptionist at the front desk.
" Hello, could I ask for your Holic, please? " She replies back, asking for my identification.
I pulled out the Student Holic in my space pouch and gave it to her.
" You guys are quite the hard workers. Huh?"
" Uh... yeah, I guess "
" Alright, here's your Holic and you can go to Floor 2 and, as you're S Class, all of the Lair there should be accessible for your usage."
I thanked her quickly and I immediately went to the elevator. It was not your normal elevator though, it's more like a rocket translucent platform that looks incredibly unsafe for usage. Well, I guess it looks cool.
I arrived at the floor and went straight ahead. There was a Holic scanner at the entrance before letting you enter the massive room, and that was pretty much it. I could not fully choose which Lair I was going to go into. It was a wide room, about 3 times the size of a basketball court, riddled with hunters of about 2 to 4* ranks.
It was incredibly loud as well. You could hear the shouts of the hunters, looking for some party members to enter a Lair with them.
" Looking for a 3* Healer! We have a 4* Tank with us! " They were advertising their strengths by fighting for those who were truly skilled to join them in their ranks.
The entrance to the Lairs was also quite magnificent; well, not exactly a Lair, but rather a teleporter to any Lair on the planet.
" Hey, you there! You're a Tree student, right? " They seemed to notice my uniform.
