The wind was blowing the plants one by one. Kaito slowly stepped towards Shinjiro. "Looks like your up early, maybe I can give you the gift I wanted to show." The god of death glared happily. "What is it? Kaito responded. Shinjiro pulled out a small golden pin, it consisted of 3 golden leaves attached to each other. Shinjiro puts the golden pin onto Kaito, then tucks the water god's hair strands beneath his ear.
"There, you look beautiful." The god of death grinned.
Kaito was flustering. He had never been this way ever before. A bond he never expected to be formed.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." Kaito smiled back.
The two of them looked at the sun setting before their eyes. Yoko woke up and went out to find the two of them. He was breathing frantically.
"Why are you guys up so early? Just to make some romantic scene in the middle of nowhere?" Yoko was infuriated but also tired at the same time.
Both Kaito and Shinjiro were silent. They didn't expected to be interrupted like that. "I ran all the way from Mt. Amaki to down here, just to find you two acting out something." Yoko sighed. "Well- we're sorry for leaving you like that." The water god chuckled awkwardly.
"You two should come back up there, I already prepared some meals if you're hungry, although I wouldn't think so." Yoko left the duo and climbed back up the mountain again. The two of them stood there speechless. "Should we head back, Shinjiro-san?" Kaito asked the fellow death god. "Not really, I just want to spend some time here.. with you." Shinjiro answered as he admired the violets from afar.
"Instead, maybe we should go flower picking, don't you think?" Shinjiro insisted.
The both of them flower picked through the fields. Finding dandelions, violets, and poppies, it was like the best flower combination. They both played around and smiled all along the way.
While picking some violets, Kaito heard an explosion. It came from the city, Ochikara, where it was near the flower field Kaito and Shinjiro were picking from. "Did you hear that?" Kaito questioned. Shinjiro responded, "Yeah I did. I think it's from Ochikara, pretty far but the closest city from here. "Shall we check it out?" Kaito questioned once more. "Alright." The god of death answered.
The duo wandered across to find the city where the explosion landed. They looked through the lands and finally found Ochikara. The city was all in ruins. It was burnt to a crisp. "So this is the devastation caused by whoever set off that explosive." The water god stated. "There's still miniature fires scattered here. Let me get rid of them" Kaito used his water prowess and cleared out all the miniature fires caused by the explosion.
"This is pretty nostalgic. I used to go around and sell incense sticks here around 400 years ago, maybe. The incense sticks were used for Tenshi's and my own temple. Now the place is destroyed, I could see blood pour out in some areas." Shinjiro stated.
Kaito questioned, "Who could've done such horrific deeds."
The two deities kept exploring around the ruined area, they stumbled across broken jewelry, and surviving artifacts. "Is this the ruby ring that Lady Kimura kept? Her marriage rings are very distinct, perhaps even considered a 'custom' one. Did she die in this incident? Shinjiro observed. "This isn't any ordinary explosive, how could it wipe out an entire city?"
The duo found more and more destroyed treasure, buried beneath ashes. They kept looking further and further. Until a small gang of bandits showed up, they had blades that could kill an elephant and challenged the two gods.
"Hey you two! What are you doing here! Aren't you supposed to be dead? Kisuke-sama isn't going to be happy about this!" The bandits shouted. They headed for attack as they swung their swords, attempting to slash Kaito's throat off. The water god unsheathed his own sword, and slashed off the several bandits' heads at once. Kaito brushed the spilled blood of the bandits off his cheek. "That was weird." Shinjiro stated.
"Why did they attack us all of the sudden?" Shinjiro complained as he giggled.
"Bandits are just bandits, and also, who is that 'Kisuke-sama' guy they were talking about." Kaito questioned once more. "I think that 'Kisuke-sama' is the culprit behind this."
"I agree." The god of death responded.
The two of them ran to find whoever "Kisuke-sama" was, they looked across the city, and left no detail unseen. "Where could he be?" Kaito asked himself. The duo found more bandits near a burnt restaurant left in ruins. "Survivors?" One of them gazed at the two deities. "Wouldn't you two survivors mind that we'll cut off your limbs?" The bandits cheered on. They tried to stab Shinjiro and Kaito but nonetheless failed. Kaito cut off most of the bandits heads with one swoop. Shinjiro then finished off the remaining by sucking them with his hand. The remaining bandits that got sucked in, entered the hells Shinjiro guarded.
"Wasn't that a bit of nuisance." Kaito sighed.
"Well it was fun, so I don't really care much anyways." Shinjiro grinned.
They continued to walk through the ruins of the former city, just to see if there were any bandits remaining in the area. They didn't really find any. "Should we go home now, Shinjiro-san?" Kaito asked. "Sure, I need to take some rest." The deity answered. As they were about the go home, an extremely fast bandit approached Kaito, and purposely stabbed his heart in the back.
"Another one?!" Shinjiro was shocked.
