The mysterious bandit slashed out his sword, leaving a wound on the water god. The bandit was speeding everywhere, it was some sort of tactic to drive their attention away. Fortunately, the gods weren't fooled, Kaito unsheathed his sword and converted it to a flexible water-like blade. The speedy bandit was on a branch, hanging from a gigantic tree.
"Ugh, what a pain to deal with you two." The bandit complained.
Shinjiro responded, "You aren't going to survive here, little prick."
"Well that's pretty mean for someone like you, the god of death." The speedy bandit responded once more.
The marauder chased after the water god, as he attempted to dodge the deity's slashes. Kaito let out a deep breath, and let out an aura of blue. "Two can play that game." Kaito stated. He intensified his own speed and ran after the bandit, plunging his sword into his abdomen. A fight within a ruined city is one thing, but a fight with a god is another. The marauder fell from the sky and ended up trampling onto his own explosive. Perhaps attempting to self-sacrifice himself just for the sake of getting rid of the two deities. Although, the result was unlikely.
"Was he the Kisuke-sama the other bandits were mumbling about?" Shinjiro questioned.
"Even if I asked him, he wouldn't answer neither ways. He's a smart bandit indeed, but not a strong one." Kaito responded as he stared across the ruins of the city.
Shinjiro asked, "Well, shall we head back once and for all?"
"Alright then." The water god nodded.
Both deities headed back once and for all. They climbed back up to Mt. Amaki, awaiting for Yoko. They entered the cabin again, and saw the meals Yoko prepared, all spoiled.
"What took you so long!?" Yoko screamed at them.
"We were out there fighting bandits, sorry heh." Kaito sweated abundantly.
"Anyways, I want to ask about a matter. Do you maybe know who Kisuke-sama is?" Shinjiro questioned once more to Yoko.
"I think I saw his names in one of those scrolls. He's like a legendary bandit or something, but it said he died 60 years ago." Yoko responded. "A lot of bandits worship him like a leader nowadays, but I dont know why."
Kaito shouted, "60 years ago!??"
"Yes, 60 years ago." The sun god sighed.
"Can you show me those scrolls you got?" Shinjiro asked.
Yoko replied, "Of course, over here."
The sun god led the duo to his shelf. Full of different types of scrolls. "So which one?" Kaito questioned. Yoko grabbed a scroll from the shelf, sat down on the mat, and opened it. The other two gods sat down with him too. "This scroll lists all the notorious bandit groups, legendary individuals who were marauders, and other things about bandits and what they do. Basically the best source you can find on bandits nowadays." The sun god explained while looking at the scroll.
"Interesting." Shinjiro stated with a smile.
'Was that speedy bandit the one who set off the explosives? No, the explosive that he set off did less damage than the other." Kaito thought while rubbing his chin.
"But why do bandits worship this guy so much? In the end he was just a human. The marauders we met acted like he was an actual living leader" Kaito expressed.
"He must be extremely influential in the bandit world. What I read from this scroll, bandits think he can give good luck to those who rob, kill, loot, and a ton of other things. You can even call it 'bandit culture' just because how many marauders and bandits actually believed this." Yoko elucidated.
"So then, Kisuke wasn't the one responsible for the explosions." The water god stated. "But then who?"
"Well I got a question for you, Kaito-dono." Yoko leaned his head onto his fists.
"What is it?" The water god responded.
"When the hell did you get that funky golden hairpin. Was it that gift Shinjiro mumbled about or what?" Yoko pointed with his fingers.
The god was speechless again, an awkward silence emerged in the cabin. Kaito blushed for a bit, "How about we discuss that later?" The water god awkwardly giggled.
"I was the one who gave him the hairpin." Shinjiro said with pride.
"I said we can discuss that later-" Kaito chuckled frantically with visible fluster.
"Oh, alright. Let's get back to topic." Yoko stated cheerfully.
'What in the world was that for' The water god buried his head within his hands.
"Soo, where we're we~" Yoko looked through the scroll. "Ah-Hah! Kisuke-sama was a bandit who was astonishingly skilled, his bandit gang ravaged all around Japan, he would bring good luck to other bandit gangs that he had formed alliances with, a courageous leader for the bandits!" The sun god kept reading the scroll onward and onward.
"Hm, well thank you for your service, Yoko, but we should just take a rest." Shinjiro expressed.
Yoko replied, "Okay then! I hope good luck upon you two, and your current mission." He closed up the scroll and put it back on the shelf. The duo soon left the cabin without any suspicions.
But lurking in the shadows was a woman spying on them. The two deities didn't even notice her. She hid in the bushes, listening to every conversation they had. She had amazing spying skills, she was one of the sneakiest in heaven.
